Meet
Miss Daisy!!
That
face speaks volumes... Dump an old Lady, really??
Daisy
before... Can you believe that?? Daisy after... You can
believe that!!
That's Daisy on the right... the RIGHT side of life with
a new BFF!!
Soooo very sweet Miss Daisy was dumped at a Texas shelter
with a baseball-sized tumor on her front paw. She was in
horrible shape and was scheduled to die. Daisy was estimated
to be 14 or 15 years old – can you imagine living
that long, in pain and then be abandoned? Neither could
the gentle hearts at SADAR – they sprung into action
and networked with a Foster Mom who stepped up to have the
tumor taken care of first and then perhaps transport to
the Senior House at SADAR. SADAR and SND saw to it that
Daisy had the surgery she desperately needed and as her
lungs were clear and pathology showed excision with clean
margins she had a very good outlook. With that size of a
tumor and her age, healing took some time and transport
was delayed. Daisy has thrived in the care of her Foster
Mom Willi and it was decided that it would be best to leave
Daisy in permanent foster/hospice with the lady who saw
to it that Daisy would have a long, loving rest of her life.
As Willi says “She is such a lovely girl and I have
become very attached to her. Her nub goes a 100 miles an
hour and she insists in the evenings that I put her bed
right next to me, she will stand there and wait till I put
it down. So very endearing.” Sounds like Miss Daisy
has found her personal angel!! Having a Sponsor would be
heavenly!!
