Meet Lovable Larry !!

Larry is a 9 year old, 77 pound, cropped, blue Doberman that was found wandering around near the city of Chicago and taken to a high intake facility. When no one came forward for this beautiful boy, we gladly accepted this sweet senior into our program. Larry is a stunning and unique looking boy. This refined gentleman is happy to curl up in a comfortable, padded bed to relax most of the day and night. Sometimes he prefers to snuggle up with a stuffed animal, as well. Larry has some typical mobility issues for an older Doberman and would appreciate a home with little to no stairs inside or leading outdoors. He’d be happiest in a ranch-style home that had carpeting or used floor runners, since his back legs sometimes slide out from underneath him. Exercise and daily supplements will help him to build muscle and increase mobility. He does not require a fenced-in yard and can be leash walked on a harness, although he does not require much more than a quick walk around the block to be content. An obedience deposit is not required however it is always recommended to help build the bond, trust and expectations of his new home. Larry loves cookies but needs some work on using a gentle mouth when he takes them. Due to this and his age, he would likely be happiest in a home with older children 10 and up who know how to behave nicely around older, large breed dogs and give them space. Larry would be just fine placed in a home with existing dogs that will be gentle with him, or would feel right at home as an only dog, soaking up all your love and attention. He has an unknown history with cats. Larry would love nothing more than to find a quiet and laid back home to finally retire in. We think seniors rock, and we hope you agree!
