Meet Miss Dixie!! 

Miss Dixie just wants to be understood!

  
A ride? Are we there yet?  Ah yes, this looks like home!!

Dixie is an 8 year-old girl who came to Bluegrass Doberman Rescue from a shelter where she was very nervous and scared. She is super high strung when she’s outside the home and it is thought was most likely tied outside and left. When outside she is distracted by anything that walks, runs, crawls, or flies. In short - hyper vigilant. So much so her foster mom has to keep her on a leash even in a fenced in yard so she won’t hurt herself trying to get out. When she tries to get outside her yard she will try anyway possible even if that means running right through a fence. Inside, Dixie is a totally different girl. She is calm, sweet, and adores her foster brother. When inside she is a very snuggly girl who loves to play calmly with her toys and is a joy to be around.

Due to Dixie’s issues she will be allowed to stay permanently in her present foster home where she is loved and her problems are well understood. We feel that is what is most important.
