Daisy
came to rescue when her owner surrendered her because she was
too old to care for her any longer. Her husband passed away a
couple of years ago and he was the one who cared for all the dogs.
Although they lived an the south and were told to give their dogs
heartworm preventive they never did. No surprise then that she
is heartworm positive. Daisy was allowed to run free on 48 acres
and come in when she pleased so all these changes have been hard
on her. During her x-rays for the heartworm pre-treatment it was
discovered she is full of buckshot and at this point there is
no way to know who shot her or why. She has adjusted to being
an inside girl pretty quickly. She is very afraid of storms, so
much so that she tried to break out of her crate which resulted
in a nose full of scars. Daisy does well with other dogs and is
more afraid of the cats than they are of her. She sticks like
glue to her Foster Mom’s side and if you get more than 3
feet away from her, she will come find you.
