Seven year-old Sydney was dumped at an animal shelter with a male dog who may have been related to her but it was clear they didn’t care for one another. The rescue noticed Sydney was drinking a lot of water and losing weight so a trip to the vet brought a diagnoses of diabetes insipidus. Her diabetes does not require insulin but a continuous supply of fresh water to keep her kidneys healthy but it is progressive and will eventually become more serious if not treated. Sydney is now sharing a kennel with a different male dog that she arrived with and they are doing well together.
