Meet Mr. Spike!! What happened here??

I'm looking for you... I'd love to drive my spike in your yard!!

Handsome 9 year-old Spike was surrendered to an animal shelter by his owners and rescue stepped in to save him. It is safe to say, given his multiple medical problems, that caring for Spikes health was not a top priority to his former people. He is a quiet, active, playful, and affectionate boy and is loving all the attention that he's getting in his new situation. He is reported not to be good with male dogs but he will have his medical issues addressed before he is introduced the females in the rescue.

He has several large lipomas that needle biopsy indicated were only fat cells and nothing indicating malignancy. However, x-rays showed a large tumor in his abdominal area that is worrisome. Because growths in this area are full of blood the vet would like to wait and see if it grows any larger before attempting to remove due to his age. So, Spike will first have a dental and be neutered since his bloodwork came back unremarkable.

Special Needs if any: Inexpensive thyroid medication.
