Raider came to Rescue’s attention when a woman from upstate California said she had been feeding a 10-year-old Doberman and a small terrier since the property owners moved and abandoned the two dogs.  Efforts to get the dogs picked up by Animal Control repeatedly failed because the property has no address. Finally, with the help of our colleagues at the shelter, the dogs were impounded and held for transport to Doberman Pincher Rescue. Raider is small at about 67 pounds, and though he’s not really a "dog's dog," he has managed to assimilate into a large group of seniors, demanding very little but appearing to be grateful for a warm place to stay and reliable food in his stomach.
