Duke!
September, 2015 - Rest In Peace dear Mr. Duke!
You
are so very loved, forever!!
Meet The Duke!! He's like the original... he's got True
Grit!!
Hey
Pilgrim... You can be sure this Duke has plenty of "grit"
left!!
When
handsome Senior boy Duke was surrendered to a high kill shelter
by this owners they told the shelter staff he could not walk from
hip dysplasia. Knowing that hip dysplasia is uncommon in Dobermans
the rescue pulled him from the shelter and took him straight to
their surgical vet for diagnostics. No problem could be found
with his hips but he was infected with three different types of
intestinal worms for so long he was weak and his muscle tone was
virtually nonexistent.
Duke
has gained some much needed weight and is now quite mobile. He
is one of a group of Senior dogs who roam 6 fenced acres of the
rescue. His muscle tone is rebuilding although his rear legs are
still somewhat impaired and the vet has been unable to offer a
definitive diagnoses. Still, he is a happy boy who is enjoying
his new home and all the loving attention coming his way.
Special Needs if any: Needs
TLC and a watch on his leg issues.
Geographic Areas: California
and surrounding states.
The Sponsor A Senior
program helps Seniors by raising funds for their rescue programs.
This helps offset some of the additional costs that come with
caring for a senior (diet, medications, supplements, etc.).
Please read more about this program on the Sponsor
A Senior page.
The Duke is looking for
a sponsor! The cost to sponsor a Senior Dobe is $40 per month
or $480 per year. You can sponsor a Senior for one month,
one year, or somewhere in between. To sponsor The Duke, use
the PayPal button below or visit the Sponsor
A Senior page for instructions on sending a check. Thank
you for any help you can give, it is MUCH appreciated!
