Welcome to doberman911.org, the website for Special Needs Dobermans (SND). We are an organization of people with a common goal of helping senior and special needs Dobermans. That need may be financial or it may be only information and/or moral support for the owner of a Doberman with a serious illness or injury. We will also aid in rehoming and fostering senior Dobermans. These Dobermans may be shelter rescues or they may already be much loved companions with a special need. Financial aid may be through donations or through avenues such as online auctions. Every precaution will be taken to assure that the need is real.

HELP ME
Give me the ugly dog with one eye, three legs,
and help me show that they're more than just a form and a face.
Give me the scarred dog, burned and slashed with hate,
and help me lead it away from that terrible fate.
Give me the deaf and blind dog, and help me show it the way
in the silence and dark of each of their days.
Give me the shutdown dog, depressed of mind,
and help me cherish their soul until their fears unwind.
Give me the old dog, bent and broken with age,
and help me fill their last days with an unending grace.
Give me the ugly dog, I'll leave the pretty one for you,
and help me show them they're worthy of love and joy, too.

Meet The SNDobes Helped With General Funds!!
These Special Needs Dobermans were helped with one-time grants from our most important fund, the General Fund. This fund is used to help Dobermans fortunate enough to find themselves in Rescue Groups. Assistance is only provided for extraordinary expenses. These grants can be augmented by your generous contributions to any of these precious Dobes!! Private owners will be provided the necessary information to help them fundraise for their own Dobes as well as being given information to reduce their costs for medications and ways to seek additional information about Doberman illnesses.
Diana
!
|
December, 2018: The beauty before you is Diana. She’s just a youngster, estimated to be only 1 – 2 years old. Sadly, all we can tell you about her is that she somehow landed in a Texas shelter, identified as a stray. But not just any stray, a pregnant stray. Big surprise, NOT! Luckily for Diana, her life began to turn around when The Rescue Angels of United Doberman Rescue and Canine Castaways of Minnesota were alerted about her. The stars lined up and UDR happened to have a Foster Angel's offer to take Diana and her impending puppies in! Her life was going to be way better! Whelp day came and all seemed status quo until Diana was unable to deliver her last puppy. An emergency C-section was carried out to prevent suffering for Diana and to save both her and her puppy’s lives. Now, we all know that ‘emergency’ anything is quite costly and UDR had just recently had a delivery that also required an emergency C-section, and this is what brings them to SND for whatever assistance we can provide. Back to back emergency dollar signs add up quite quickly. Our supporter’s generosity helps to keep many of the rescues afloat, enabling them to continuing saving more Dobie lives, so if you can, won’t you please donate toward Diana’s surgery. NO amount is ever too small and your gift is tax deductible. Just click on the links to paypal on the right or for mail instructions on donating. If using Paypal, please click on the ‘friends and family’ and ‘send money’ tabs to keep your gift fee free if your account allows. As always, the Dobes, the rescues and SND are grateful for all you do. Start now and don’t forget Secret Santa will match your donation thru December 31st!! You can visit our newest Poster Lady here https://www.doberman911.org!! Thank you! Beth McCahren, Diana’s SND Case Manager & newest big fan. |

Sherman
!
|
December,
2018:
What
a difference a day makes! Sherman was released from the hospital as he improved
very markedly overnight. He's got a way to go before the he's released from
further treatments but at this rate, we're all hopeful for a GREAT recovery!
Keep this darling imp in your thoughts and THANKS to all that are a part
of this magnificent effort!! New picture also posted on the home page for
the Cover Pup here https://www.doberman911.org. December, 2018: Baby Sherman’s story is sad from Day 1. His mom, Delby is dying of breast cancer. She’s 2 years old. She came to rescue pregnant and once she littered, her cancer just took off growing like crazy. Upshot of this, Sherman and company were weaned at 4 weeks. At 8 weeks old he went home with his new family. They say all went well for 3 weeks. Then he drank out of the same water bowl, after a walk, at the same time as the resident adult female Shepherd. The Shepherd decided to kill little Sherman - she would not let go and had to be beaten off of him. The adopters immediately called Mary at United Doberman Rescue to say they wanted to surrender him back. OMG!! They had no credit, no money and were only willing to transport him part way because it was snowing. They did get him to a vet in Northern Minnesota who stabilized and tranquilized him for his journey. One eye was missing. One leg appeared to be broken and his face was just shattered. A tag team effort finally got him to Mary. His face was too swollen to be recognizable as a dog. Certainly not as the happy puppy she had last seen. She rushed him to University of Minnesota Veterinary Hospital. The doctors were literally waiting at the door for Sherman and Mary. They kept him as pain-free as possible overnight in the ICU before beginning CT scans and surgeries in the morning. They started trying to fix his jaw. It’s broken in multiple places and the jaw bone joint is crushed. There is a very real concern he may have trouble opening and closing his mouth in future. They did, in fact, find his eye—deep back in his head, but it is not responding to stimuli. Lots of bone fragments are lodged all around the eyeball itself. No guesses on how this will play out. The teeth on that side are showing pockets of air around them and will ultimately have to come out. He also has some fractures of his nasal cavity which will hopefully heal on their own. Wow! The estimate is between $6-8 thousand as of now. Wow!! Please, please help UDR and SND in this battle. Please remember all donations will be doubled by Secret Santa until December 31st! You can begin helping dear Sherman by clicking on the PayPal button to the right. Gift options to friends saves even more! The mail may be snail but it works just fine too - and if your check is dated 31 December or earlier, Santa will pay! This little guy thanks you for any help you might give him! And so do I, thank you that is… without you, the Doberman Community, he’d just be another dog dying because of a stupid - this was NOT an accident!! Need someone to pull on your heart strings?? Just click here https://www.doberman911.org.Thank you so much for caring and for giving Sherman the chance to be whole and happy again as he deserves!!!! Cersei
!
|
December, 2018: People have let Cersei down for all of her 9 years. Nobody cared enough to spay her, or to keep her safe. Even rescue has let her down, she was adopted out intact for one thing. Then after she was hit by a car and left to die in the road, they were unwilling to help her. This sweet girl had no reason to trust people, none at all... not until High Desert Doberman Rescue that is. Cersei has truly and finally been rescued by Anthony and his Rescue Angels!! They rushed Cersei right to Vista Hills Animal Hospital and Dr. Shinault. Dr. Shinault is a Doberman advocate and has gone above and beyond for her. He truly is a Dober-Angel! Both of Cersei’s hind legs were injured, one required surgery to insert a pin to stabilize her hip and the old sweetie's other leg is in a cast - but she has lots of loving help and will never have to go through life alone again. HDDR has asked SND to help—which means I am asking the Doberman community to show this old lady how many people do care!!! You can begin to help Cersei by clicking on the PayPal button to the right. Gift options mean even more goes to the dog! USPS gets the job done too, I use it! No amount is too small to show her you care. I sincerely thank you all for your continued support of our beloved SNDobies!!!!! Don’t forget Secret Santa will match your donation thru December. 31st!!!! We're waiting for more pix of this dear Lady but you can visit our newest Poster Dame here https://www.doberman911.org!! Thank you! Carol Belknap, Cersei’s SND Case Manager & fan. |

Blaze
!
|
December, 2018: Many of us who have been around SND (or involved in any animal rescue) for any amount of time have heard this scenario over and over. A dog is dumped, banished, thrown away because of the arrival of a child. This is what happened to this beautiful boy, but his story is perhaps the most severe and cruel. Blaze was a family member since he was 8 weeks old - he's 8 years old now. When the female partner (I refuse to call her human or even humane for that matter) arrived home from the hospital with said offspring, Blaze was tossed into the back yard in the Las Vegas heat wearing a ratty coat and a mere awning for protection. This poor boy endured the desert heat and the cold winds of winter for weeks on end. He became lonely and bored - so lonely in fact, that he started a lick granuloma on his leg that has literally become life threatening. When he was finally surrendered to Doberman Rescue of Nevada, he was filthy. He was still wearing the same ratty coat he wore when he was tossed outside, his poor leg oozing and swollen. He is covered in lumps and bumps... but he has an indomitable and happy spirit. This dear boy is a world class winner! Team Getter - John and Pat of DRNV - immediately have undertaken to save Blaze's life. His leg is being treated aggressively with laser and other interventions and he is responding, the lipomas and bumps are also being assessed. It is clear that Blaze's rehabilitation is going to be prolonged and expensive... but look at this face! This wonderful Dobe shines like a beacon. Doberman Rescue of Nevada has saved many, many Dobes and some of those Dobes have come to them in unimaginable condition. Their network of veterinarians and volunteers have dedicated themselves to helping Dobes find health and loving homes, and they need SND's help to continue their important work. In this season of generosity, have a look at dear Blaze and send a contribution to help Blaze regain his health... and make Santa pay! You can donate now by clicking on the PayPal button on the right (use the ‘send money’ and ‘friends and family’ if your account allows and that will keep your donation fee free), or you can always mail your donation.Want to see another Blaze of Beauty? Just visit our newest Poster Dude here https://www.doberman911.org!! Doberman Rescue of Nevada, Blaze and I thank you. Les, SND Case Manager - forever friend of Blaze! |

Radar
!
|
December, 2018: Say hello to handsome, four year old Radar! This sweet fellow’s life has been turned upside down in more ways than one. For the past three years, Radar has been the constant companion of his terminally ill owner, a Vietnam Veteran. With his health declining, and wanting his Dobe to be rehomed where he would be sure to be cared for and loved, his owner called on the Rescue Angels of Doberman Underground of Aurora, Ohio to place Radar into capable hands. When the DU Angels took Radar under their wings, they noticed his left eyelid was abnormal. Radar was diagnosed with entropion. This condition causes the lid to turn inward and the lashes scratch against the eyeball causing pain, corneal abrasions and a consistent watery eye. Imagine crushed glass in your eye – there you have it! Radar was initially treated with the standard entropion surgical procedure to repair the lid and save the eye. Unfortunately, the outcome was not successful and Radar needed to have his eye removed. As you can imagine, the cost of two surgeries doesn’t come cheap. Radar will finally be pain free and ready to be adopted and take his next step in life. Won’t you help us help DU with Radar’s vet fees? NO gift is ever too small, and every penny will go straight to Radar’s veterinarian. Please make your tax deductible donation now by clicking the PayPal button on the right (using the Family and Friends option if your account permits to keep your gift fee free) or mail a donation if that's more convenient. As always, the rescues and SND thank you for your continued support! Beth McCahren, Radar's SND Case Manager. |

Valerie
!
|
December, 2018: Remember cute, snuggly, kissable Valerie? Positively adorable 8 year old with personality—and heartworms? One of Bluegrass Doberman Rescue’s many evil worm cases. Well…you guys helped, her heartworms are gone and she’s ready to go! One problem, she isn’t a Dobe, she’s a Dober-Goat, a not so rare anomaly in our chosen breed. December 4th, Val’s foster-mom found her consuming a glove. They induced vomiting to get the glove out quick—and it did come out. Unfortunately so did quite a bit of unidentifiable stuff. Hard plastic, for one thing. And the vomiting of plastic did not stop for 4 days, when blood was added to the mix. X-rays showed she had a ton of stuff still in her so surgery was done immediately. One piece of the hard plastic had gotten into her intestine and would probably have ruptured it in a few more hours. Val came through fine, but you know it was bad when the vet is so fascinated by what came out he saved it for Show and Tell! Now for the twist, once the foster-mom saw the remains, she knew exactly what it was… 3 or 4 months ago when Val first came to them she was given a durable, waterproof dog bed. It lasted one night. At the time it did not appear as though she had eaten any of it, but she did, the little bugger! So while it waited in her tummy for the next installment of the indigestible, it hardened. Wow. So read this and then look at that face and tell me you won’t help BDR and SND fix Val again!! You can begin helping Val by clicking on the PayPal button to the right. If applicable, the gift option gives even more. Or drop a check in the mail along with your next batch of Christmas cards! You could relate your own dober-goat stories in the SND café or your other haunts! Thanks for your support and understanding!! Want another look at our contrite goat? Drogo
!
|
December, 2018: This wonderful 5 year old found himself in a southern California shelter with a very uncertain future. Thankfully, Drogo found a biped shelter friend who contacted Dobermans and Little Paws Rescue in Fillmore because it was felt Drogo needed experienced Doberman people to help find him a home. He became part of the amazing Ardis' army this past Spring, and has been doing well... until suddenly, Drago began vomiting and refusing his food. He looked like death. Drago was rushed to Ardis' vet, where bloodwork and x-rays showed nothing. When Drago was opened up for exploratory, it was discovered his stomach was full of gravel and undigested food - obstruction city! His able vet cleaned him all out and put our boy on antibiotics for 48 hours and turned Drogo into a handsome, happy eating machine. He is now on a special medication to coat his stomach before meals and he's doing well and is expected to make a complete recovery. We all know how expensive surgery is. Drogo's fast acting vet saved his precious life, and we should all be forever grateful for Ardis and her Angels for saving and helping Dobes like Drogo. DALPR of Fillmore has saved more Dobermans than anyone can recall, and they have asked SND to help raise funds to offset the costs of Drogo's surgery. Please, send in a contribution to SND to help Drogo. You can donate now by clicking on the PayPal button on the right (use the ‘send money’ and ‘friends and family’ if your account allows and that will keep your donation fee free), or you can always mail your donation. Just look at his beautiful face - thank you for your compassion. If you want to see another shot of our latest Poster Dude, go here https://www.doberman911.org. Drogo, Ardis and I thank you and Happy Holidays!! Les Michell-Young, Drogo's friend and Case Manager. |

The
Deming Trio !
|
November, 2018: Oakley, Asher and Aspen… three totally adorable puppies, ‘possibly’ eight weeks old, DUMPED in the MOUNTAINS in New Mexico! Imagine, mere babies left to suffer alone by a walking waste of air and space who didn’t care that they should still be with their mother, that they would be cold, hungry, scared and vulnerable. With no survival skills at all, their only alternatives were to either be attacked, killed and eaten by predators or to die by starvation. Against all odds, they were found by a good Samaritan who took them to a shelter. Two of the pups were super skinny, but after a few days at the shelter they began to show improvement. That’s when the Rescue Angels of Doberman Rescue of New Mexico were notified. The Rescue Angels quickly stepped in to take the little ones into a proper environment to socialize them and to continue their care. Of course, there’s more to the story... Within a few days of being rescued, they all came down with dreaded parvo. At first sign, they were rushed to the emergency vet and have been there ever since November 5. Aspen, the smallest one, actually began to decline. Parvo is absolutely deadly and VERY costly to treat for one doggie, let along THREE. DRNM has come to SND for much needed assistance. Please, if you can, donate any amount at all to help this rescue save these puppies. NO amount is ever too small and your gift is tax deductible. You can donate by clicking on the PayPal tab on the right (then please use ‘send money’ and ‘friends and family’ which will keep your donation fee free), or you can always mail your donation. Thank you ever so much for your ongoing support of the rescues and SND! Monty
!
|
October, 2018: We all know there is a never-ending stream of homeless dogs at any given time. Some are puppies, some are elderly, some have recently given birth and may or may not have their litter with them. Some are injured, some are ill. Where did they come from? Were they ever loved? Did they stray or were they dumped? Have they ever seen a vet? Just how did that injury occur?? We usually never find the answers to these questions, which leads me to our newest SNDobe, Monty. Monty is only 10 months old. He was discovered at an animal shelter, listed as a ‘stray’. We don’t know the circumstances of how Monty became another homeless statistic, but what we CAN tell you is he has not one, but TWO broken legs! Monty was chipped, so by law he had to be held the mandatory 10 days at the shelter… languishing with two broken legs. The Rescue Angels of Doberman Pinscher Rescue of Fillmore, California were waiting on the sidelines just in case Monty wasn’t claimed. When the hold time was up, DPR rushed in and immediately had him vetted. One of Monty’s legs had a fracture near his knee and the other leg had a compound fracture near his ankle. Monty had been without orthopedic care for so long one fracture had begun to heal. At that point surgery would not have been beneficial, so that leg was placed in a splint. The compound fracture actually required 2 surgeries with several pins placed to hold the fragmented bone intact. It’s too soon to know if that leg will heal or, worst case scenario, will need to be amputated. Naturally, these types of surgeries put quite a strain on any rescue. DPR has come to SND with hope that we can assist them with Monty’s vet fees. Please help Monty if you can. NO amount is ever too small, and your gift is tax deductible. You can either mail your donation or if you are able, just click on the PayPal tab (if using PayPal, please click on the ‘send money’ and ‘family and friends’ tabs to keep your donation fee free!) We at SND are eternally grateful for your continued assistance! If you want to see Monty's plea up close and personal, visit our newest Poster Dude, just click here https://www.doberman911.org. THANK YOU, Beth McCahren, Monty's SND Case Manager. |

Louie
!
|
October, 2018: Sweet little Louie was just rollin’ down the road with his owner, livin’ happy- puppy large, when he fell out of the pick-up truck—yes, the open bed and not secured in any way... and got run over. Yep, his owner ran him over, not the car behind them, his own owner… I don’t have more of the details but I’m pretty sure they wouldn’t make this read any better… So, there they are, Louie has a broken leg and his "people" pretending to be responsible (and they were responsible for his disaster) dog owners decide to put him to sleep. Yep, he's broken now so what's he good for? Did I mention Louie is 5 months old? FIVE MONTHS old and they’d rather kill him than cure him. Have you looked at that face?? The staff of Fountain City Animal Hospital did look at the face and were appalled. They started calling around, looking for help for this little guy. The owner agreed to sign off of him to somewhere suitable and they don’t come more suitable than Volunteer State Doberman Rescue! Concord Veterinary Hospital orchestrated actually getting him to the rescue. He has a spiral fracture of his left femur. So, needless to say, he is being treated as I write this and it won’t be forever before this sweet, goofy boy will get a REAL family of his own. Please consider joining VSDR and SND fix this little guy’s leg! You can begin helping Louie by clicking on the PayPal button to the right. Gift options to friends saves even more! The mail may be snail but it works just fine too! This little guy thanks you for any help you might give him! And so do I, thank you that is… without you, the Doberman Community, he’d just be another dog dying because of a broken leg! Want to see this gorgeous little imp again, just click here https://www.doberman911.org.Thank you so much for caring!!!! Carol Belknap, Louie’s SND Case Manager. |

Tasker
!
|
October, 2018: This exuberant, beautiful boy is 3 year old Tasker, and he lives with our friends at Dog Mountain Rescue in California. Ann has been an amazing angel for not only Dobermans, but for dogs of every stripe, and our boy Tasker was pulled from a shelter more than a year ago and is living the life he should... but there's a dark cloud on the horizon. Tasker was out among friends playing (both biped and quadruped) when it was observed that he had a lump on his shoulder... very scary indeed. Tasker saw his local veterinarian and will be seeing a specialist veterinarian within a few days to get a conclusive diagnosis and a battle plan... needless to say, a malignancy is suspected. Ann and her friends at Dog Mountain Rescue have been steadfast supporters of Dobermans since the rescue's inception. This organization has pulled countless dogs - and not only Dobes - from kill shelters all over California. Ann has come to SND for help with Tasker's impending veterinary bills because saving a life is not only noble, but it is expensive - especially and more so in California! Won't you send a contribution to SND to help this delightful red boy?? Every last cent counts, as you know. Please join us in healing this dear DobeDude. Please start helping Tasker today by clicking on the PayPal button to the right. If you have the friends and family option, it means even a little more goes toward Tasker's expenses. Of course, you may also mail one in and no fees accrue! Need another look at this really handsome Red DobeDude?? Just click here https://www.doberman911.org. Thank you from dear Tasker, Ann and her friends at Dog Mountain and me, Les Michell-Young, Tasker's SND Case Manager. |

Burt
!
|
October, 2018: When no one has ever cared about you, there is no one to remember your whelp-day, but our sweet Melissa of Bluegrass Doberman Rescue thinks Burt is about 5 years old. Burt, and another dog in bad shape, were strays in a South Carolina shelter. No telling what these dogs went through before the shelter, but it wasn’t good. The shelter was a roof and food, that’s all, and, yet, still better than he’d had. The shelter provided no medical assistance so Melissa had to twist a few arms (you go girl!) to get someone down there let him see a vet. He was very, very skinny and didn’t look good at all. He was heartworm positive—of course, and anemic to boot. Sounds like salvation was just ahead of starvation for this lucky boy. After a few days at that vet he came “home” to his foster-mom both looking and feeling better. His treatment has begun and when all is said and done, he’ll be a whole new Dober-dude! He’ll have both weight and love but be minus the worms and testes, what a deal! This sweet boy is hard to get pictures of because he is so Velcro he is always stuck to your side. He’s crate-trained, loves people and seems to love other dogs although we won’t know for sure until the worms are gone! He does great at the vet with everyone fussing over him and is going to make someone a wonderful companion. Please join BDR and SND in healing this Dober-dude. You may begin helping Burt by clicking on the PayPal button to the right. If you have the friends and family option, it means even a little more goes to Burt. As always, you may also mail one in, it all works. Just want another look at this handsome DobeDude?? Just click here https://www.doberman911.org. I would like to thank you for your continued support of our SNDobies!!! Your help means so much to them, and to me. Carol Belknap, Burt’s SND Case Manager. |

Bailou
!
|
October, 2018: At 8 years old Bailou is that perfect senior age. She should be loved and cherished. Should be. Instead the elderly couple who had her for all of those 8 years took her to the shelter to be euthanized. She has mammary tumors they were sure were cancer. They wanted her put down. The shelter and the shelter vet talked them into surrender instead. So they walked out of her life feeling they had done all they could for her. Jerks. She has made it to 8 years old and doesn’t have heartworm. It’s a sad state of affairs when that’s the best to be said of your animal husbandry - some may be glad the same is not the fate of all seniors of any species, including the 'superior' one! Once Bailou was safe from her owners, the shelter called Volunteer State Doberman Rescue who swooped in to take Bailou in comforting arms. Sweet Bailou came from the shelter with a vaginal discharge, although she had been fine there. The next day the discharge became puddles of blood and she was lethargic. Off to Animal Medical Center, where she was diagnosed with closed pyometra. Her surgery has solved many painful problems for her, making her one step closer to the home that will truly appreciate her. Bailou, has aged like fine wine and someone will be glad she was rescued in time. Please join VSDR and SND in caring for this girl! You may begin helping Bailou by clicking on the PayPal button to the right. The friends and family gift option gives even more precious cents to her. Because they all do—go toward her vet expenses, that is. You may also mail one in, it’s all for the good. She is worthy—but so is the next one who stumbles, broken, in the door. We have to help them all or break our necks trying!! And I thank you from the bottom of my heart for your continued support of our SNDobies! Carol Belknap, Bailou’s SND Case Manager and Mom to a perfect 10 year old with benign mammary tumors. |

Chessa
!
|
September, 2018: Dear, young Chessa is a 3 year old "owner surrender" (euphemism for "dumped on") to San Antonio Doberman Rescue. She had lived with a German Shepherd with whom she didn't get along, so her owner dumped her - but at least did the right thing and got her to rescue but didn't care enough to give her heartworm protection - poor GSD but maybe it's getting HW preventative we can only hope for its sake. Chessa has had some training, as she's good on lead and really enjoys human company with people of all ages. Trouble is, her owner still failed this beautiful young girl TWICE by not treating her with HW prevention (yes, in Texas), and now she's showing HW positive. She will be staged to see what level of infestation she has and of course she will be treated. One has to wonder exactly why people cannot take the time to purchase prevention (dirt cheap compared to treating this scourge - but hey, dump her and let rescue get her cured... responsible owner? We think not!) - It's about obligations and priorities but I guess your Doberman doesn't fit the bill. Makes no sense... SADAR has kindly taken Chessa in and promised her a life of health and happiness, and being the amazing organization SADAR is, they will not fail any dog that comes to them in need. Please send a donation to SND so we all can assist SADAR in helping Chessa. Every cent helps rid her of this horror and brings her closer to being the happy, beautiful bouncing Doberman she should be! Please begin helping Chessa by clicking on the PayPal button to the right, the family/friends gift option gives him even more if your account allows. Or, you can always mail a donation if that's more convenient.Thank you. Leslie Michell-Young, Chessa's SND Case Manager and HW's worst enemy. |

Lilly
!
|
September, 2018: We’ve all heard it before, so called ‘owners’ dumping their responsibilities (i.e. "pets") into the laps of animal shelters and rescues - if they're lucky. And that is exactly what happened in the case of Lilly and Doberman Underground rescue located in Ohio. At only one year of age, still just a puppy without even the chance to bloom into her mature personality, she needed to be gone from her so called home. DU Rescue Angels know how dangerous it is for a young Dobe to be left to chance so they quickly took Lilly under their wings which ensured her health and safety. It was immediately obvious to Lilly’s Angels that she had an obvious limp and was unable to bear weight on her leg. X-rays revealed a torn ACL (the ligament that stabilizes the knee) which is most likely the reason she was surrendered. Because of Lilly’s young age the surgical procedure that will benefit her the most is a TPLO. TPLO surgery is costly, however it is well worth it to give Lilly the best outcome possible. Because of the high cost, DU is requesting assistance from the SND community to help cover Lilly’s expenses. As always, NO donation is ever too small and is even tax deductible! If you’re able, you can submit your gift via PayPal (please click on ‘send money’ and ‘family and friends’ to keep your donation ‘fee free’) or you can opt to use USPS mail. Thank you one and all for all you do to enable SND to help keep our rescues afloat!. Want to see another picture of this lovely young DobeGirl?? Just click here https://www.doberman911.org. Thank you from DU, Lilly and SND!! Beth McCahren, Lilly's SND Case Manager. |

Cozy
!
|
September, 2018: Thank you Doberman Pinscher Rescue and Ardis in Fillmore, California for rescuing this boy. His name is Cozy and he is approximately 3 years old, not neutered and found as a stray in mid August with a badly broken leg. He was taken to a shelter in upstate CA. DPR was approached by the shelter for assistance with this handsome, very friendly dober guy. X-rays had already been done at the emergency vet hospital when he was found, and it instantly became clear that the break was so bad a splint wasn't going to be sufficient much to the shelter's dismay. While DPR was making arrangements to take in this tall, handsome boy, the shelter had advised them that his leg could be attended to promptly at the vet clinic where his x-rays were done. The original estimate was for repair of the leg and was quite reasonable! Good News! Well not so fast, unfortunately once in surgery it was glaringly apparent that the leg could NOT be saved. Cozy is recovering well now but only after he had initially removed his cone of shame and pulled out sutures at the amputation site - requiring replacement of some of those sutures. With a name like Cozy you just have to imagine this handsome guy cuddling with someone on a couch, where he should be with a family who will love and care for him. The cost of a surgery like this is astronomicial for a rescue who relies on donations to survive. If we can all step up and donate a little to help DPR, Ardis' RescueAngels and Cozy, I know it would be appreciated by all. Please help Cozy get to his forever home. You can make a tax-deductible donation by using the PayPal button on the right (send to "Family & Friends" option if your account allows) or by mailing in your donation. Want to see another picture of this really COZY Dude?? Just click here https://www.doberman911.org. Thank you from DPR, Cozy and SND!! Thank you!! Nancy Harwood, Cozy's SND Case Manager. |

Jasper

September,
2018:
Dear
Jasper... She started off as Dolly in June as the story from that date
says. She was taken on as a case for a huge mammary tumor which unfortunately
turned out to be malignant. She was transferred to hospice and she was
renamed Jasper - a precious gem and she IS that indeed. Jasper developed
a fairly large growth around her neck which began impacting circulation
- dangerous for her no doubt, it was recommended for removal in spite
of her present status and so, it was done. Doberman Underground made a
promise to this dear Lady and SND's Senior Medical Fund will help them
keep it! Will you join us? Any donation will be much appreciated - the
instructions below still apply! Or,
you can just click here and you can send extra
love with a Senior Sponsorship too https://www.doberman911.org/seniors/cases/oh_jasper.html

Jacques
!

September,
2018:
Jacques,
a 3 year old Doberman was seized by Animal Control because he had been
chained outside with no shelter, no food and little water - likely for
most of his life. He was emaciated, weighed less that 40 pounds and didn’t
have the strength to stand. The "owner" was charged with animal
cruelty and AC kept Jacques in their care while awaiting a court date.
With the AC staff's affectionate care, Jacques put on 30 pounds but couldn’t
be treated for the lame leg due to legal restrictions. After 5 months
in limbo, Jacques’ case was dismissed (the officer who seized Jacques
was no longer available to testify). The former owner was urged to surrender
ownership to AC. Jacques was immediately transferred to Doberman Rescue
of Colorado where he has demonstrated how well he gets along with all
people, most dogs, NO cats and NO birds. He has developed close friendships
with other dogs and is considered super affectionate and cheerful. He
has now been neutered and is being treated for hypothyroidism. After a
series of exams it is thought that an old injury (untreated) combined
with poor nutrition and no exercise is the cause of the lame leg. Proper
exercise and professional hydrotherapy are recommended and will be undertaken
with our and hopefully your help. Please begin helping Jacques by clicking
on the PayPal button to the right, the family/friends gift option gives
him even more if your account allows. Of course you can mail
a donation instead. With you in his corner he can become the happy loving
Dobe he was meant to be—no amount is too small to help! Thank you
for your constant caring!!! For Jacques and DRCO, Steve Martin, Jacques'

Luke
!
|
August,
2018:
When
Luke was 3 ½ years old he was hit by a car, snapping his leg. His
“family” couldn’t afford any veterinary help for him
(obviously they couldn’t afford a fence either). So they took him
to a shelter and left him without a backward glance. The shelter did have
a vet set his leg and over the next month rescues were contacted, trying
to find him a place. Well, we all know Cindy and her Doberman Underground,
no Dobe left behind, no matter what. So Cindy and Gwenn swooped down on
him and saved this little blue boy. As soon as they got their loving hands
on him they could see there was a problem. They saw everything they shouldn’t
have seen and nearly nothing you’d expect after a month’s
healing. You could see the pin in his leg sticking out under his skin.
Wow, really wrong… X-rays showed the leg had not only not set correctly
but was badly infected. The leg was a mess that couldn’t be saved
and it was decided to amputate. After the surgery and some healing time,
his life should go on better than before—because whatever family
takes him home will really love him and care for him. Too bad it has taken
almost 4 years, a great deal of pain and a leg to bring him to a chance
at a good life. DU has asked SND to join them in Luke’s cause and
I am asking you, the heart of SND, for help too. You can begin helping
Luke by clicking on the PayPal button to the right, the family gift option
gives him even more; or you can mail
one in. I know I’ve said it before but it’s so true—no
amount is too small to help! I sincerely thank all of you reading this.
You wouldn’t be here if you didn’t care. Thank you!!!!! Carol
Belknap, Luke’s SND Case Manager. |

Shadow
B !

August,
2018:
For
Shadow’s 7th birthday he earned a new title—“Owner Surrender”
-- That’s when he went from caged dog to shelter dog (in a cage).
His “family” had kept him confined most of his life because
all he wanted - ever- was to be with them. Ann and Dog Mountain Rescue
saw that and knew they had to bring him into rescue’s safety. Ann
says he is one of the sweetest rescues she’s ever had—and
that’s more than a few!! His kitchen table ear crop might turn some
people off but he is a very handsome dober-gent. As soon as he is let
out of his kennel after breakfast, he looks for someone to snuggle up
to. OK, so he can and will scale a 6’ fence… but it’s
only to get to his people! And maybe, he is now 10 years old albeit in
very good shape for his age, doesn't he still deserves all the love and
people time he can get?? Well of course he does!! Anyway, life was good
at DMR until one of the many timber rattlers common in Northern California,
bit him. Luckily, all the dogs have received a shot to lessen the bite
effects and his bite was recognized quickly. Getting him to the vet immediately
saved him and he has recovered completely from the bite! He did insist
on changing kennels though... and who can blame him? DMR and SND are asking
for help to pay for his treatment so they can keep on keepin’ on.
They need to be there for Shadow and all the others coming. You can begin
helping Shadow by clicking on the PayPal button to the right (the gift
option gives him even more) or by mailing
one in. Shadow would love to thank you personally for anything you do
for him!! And I would like to thank you too! Want to see another picture

Marshall
!
|
August, 2018: Marshall’s story is short, but his history isn’t so sweet. Marshall is only one year old, so he is still really just a baby. And, Marshall wasn’t neutered, so he decided to leave home and go wandering. He was gone for three whole weeks before he was finally found… found, with a significant leg injury! His previous people either couldn’t or wouldn’t provide medical care, so he was turned over to the local animal shelter. The shelter did good by Marshall by alerting Dobies and Little Paws Rescue of Fillmore, California about him. Marshall’s Rescue Angels were there in a jiffy and whisked him directly to their vet. What was initially thought to be a broken leg from being hit by a car was anything but – Marshall had been SHOT!! The bullet shattered his elbow joint and the adjoining ulna! There was no saving his leg, the damage was just too great, so poor Marshall’s foreleg had to be amputated. This could have all been avoided had his previous people been responsible owners - we are all too familiar with that IF... Marshall is healing well from his amputation, and will soon be healthy enough to be adopted into a loving and caring home. In the meantime, Dobies and Little Paws are requesting assistance with covering Marshall’s surgery costs. Would you be able to donate? NO amount is ever too small and your gift is tax deductible. Just click on PayPal, choose ‘send money’ then ‘friends and family’ to keep donation ‘fee free’. Or, you could also mail your check. We at SND so appreciate your help, because it is you who make it possible for SND to even exist! THANK YOU!! Beth McCahren, Marshall's SND Case Manager. |

Nova
!
|
July, 2018: From the start, Nova's circumstances did not fit the usual surrendering process. His former owners gave him up in Louisiana, but because both rescues in Louisiana and Texas were full beyond capacity, Nova landed in the kind arms of Doberman Pinscher Rescue of Pennsylvania. Because Nova was discovered to be heartworm positive, Pilots and Paws were contacted and our dear boy took a wonderful 3 hour flight to PA rather than the stressful 3 day road trip. On arrival, Nova was evaluated and treated for heartworm - a stressful and arduous affair not without it's dangers. Nova came through the treatments like the champ he is and was being readied for adoption when his foster parents discovered an ominous limp... Our dear boy was diagnosed with osteosarcoma in his right front leg and had his leg amputated. He is recovering nicely and his caretakers - in fact, everyone who has come in contact with him - is trying to get Nova accepted into a special treatment program for osteosarcoma. However, even if he in not accepted for treatment, DPRPA is planning on getting Nova the chemo treatments he'll need to give him the best chance for a complete recovery... and this is where, of course, we all come in at SND. We have had some very memorable OSA cases at SND, and the outpouring of generosity and donations has been a sensation in the animal rescue world. Although some of our dear OSA cases are no longer with us, we must remember that we gave Dobermans like Taz and Cobey some of the happiest days of their lives and their families have become steadfast friends of SND. Please join the OSA warriors of SND and contribute to helping Nova get the treatments he needs! As you already know, every cent counts and there is nothing in this world that feels better than helping a deserving Doberman in need! You can begin helping Nova by clicking on the PayPal button to the right. The friends/family gift option means even more goes to the fight! You may also mail one in of course. Want to see another picture of this really handsome DUDE?? Just click here https://www.doberman911.org. Thank you from DPRPA, Nova, me and all the OSA Warriors! Dottie
!
|
July,
2018:
What
can I say about this very pretty girl Dottie? Well, as it turns out, like
many dogs claimed from the streets anywhere... not much - other than the
fact that her career had included puppy production from the look of her
mammary glands! She escaped her situation and landed on the porch of two
nice girls. Her second lucky break was coming into the hands of San Antonio
Doberman Advocacy & Rescue in Texas. She is approximately 2.5 years
old, is now spayed and no surprise, she has HEARTWORM! She can climb
a 5 foot fence and evidently that's how she ended up with her new girlfriends.
The girls brought her into SADAR and said she had been living on their
front porch for two weeks. They tried to locate her owner but were never
able to accomplish that. The rescue has her in a 6 foot enclosure and
she is safely contained there! Thank goodness these girls knew enough
to bring her to a rescue or who knows what would have happened to her
on the streets! Her heartworm treatment bill will put stress on SADAR's
budget so any help will be appreciated. She is very young so should do
well with the treatment and will make someone a wonderful companion. You
can make a tax deductible donation by using the PayPal button on the right
or mailing
in your donation. This sweet and lovely girl will be forever in your debt
for giving her a chance at a real life and finally a loving family to
care for her for the rest of her life. Thanks for helping Dottie!!! Thank
you for your continuing support of the SNDobies!! Nancy Harwood, Dottie's

Esther

July,
2018:
Meet
sweet 7-year old Miss Esther - surely a Senior chronologically but also
compounded by the hardship of her previous "life" if you can
call it that. She's a stray from deep in the heart of Texas, but the part
of Texas she's from had no heart to be sure. She was picked up as a stray,
held there for the required time and then finally, she found some heart
deep in the heart of Texas. The loving hearts of San Antonio Doberman
Rescue that is... Nothing is known about her previous life other thatn
she outlived any usefulness she had and was finally arrested by AC - lucky
for her! It wasn't long before it became apparent that she was having
a urinary problem. At first it was thought to be just typical incontinence
or UTI but all the short-course solutions did not appear to solve the
problem. After consulting yet another vet, it was found that her kidneys
are leaking protein into her urine. Hopefully this may be a by-product
of her previous life? Esther is a most loving, sweeter than sweet DobeLady
and you can trust that her problem will be examined fully. SADAR is asking
for help - ours and yours - to get Miss Esther back on track to a healthy
life while she stays with them as she seeks a new Forever Home. As a Senior,
we will be posint a link to her Senior page soon! Won't you join in helping
this dear Lady? You can begin with the PayPal button on the right (sending
$$ to friends and family keep it fee-free - Miss Esther is a friend and
she'd love to be in your family!) - or you can always send your love by
mail.
Do it now won't you?
Please!! Thank you for your continuing support of the SNDobies!! THANK
YOU from all of us! SND Case Management Team. |

Czar
!
|
July,
2018:
‘Czar’
being ‘king’, ‘leader’ and ‘ruler’
- so how did this handsome DoberRoyalty ever find himself unclaimed in
an animal shelter? Well, he did, and that’s when the RescueAngels
of Doberman Pinscher Rescue of Fillmore, California were alerted. Along
with his sweet personality, one of the first things the RescueAngels noted
was what appeared to be a descended testicle. Veterinary exam revealed
Czar was approximately 5 years old, most likely was cryptorchid and surgery
for neutering was scheduled. During his operation, a lengthy period of
time was spent trying to find the descended testicle but success was not
achieved, so Czar had to have exploratory surgery as well. What was discovered
was not a descended testicle at all but an encapsulated abscess from a
previously performed neuter with the sutures still intact! The necrotic
tissue was removed along with the infection and luckily Czar is on his
road to recovery. Now for the rest of the story…. due
to the length of time required for the initial surgery, then the additional
need for an exploratory procedure, what was to be a relatively uncomplicated
neuter turned out to be so much more, along with the higher costs to go
with it. DPR of Fillmore has requested the assistance of our SND community
to help with covering the costs in bringing Czar back to health. If you
are able, won’t you please consider a donation of any amount? Your
gift is tax deductible on NO amount is ever too small! You can give by
snail mail
or by using the PayPal link to the right (if using PayPal, please tap
on ‘send money’ the the ‘family and friends’ tab
if your account allows - this will keep your donation fee free). Thank
you so very much for your support of the rescues who save so many of our
favorite breed, the mighty Doberman Pinscher!! Beth McCahren, The Czar's

Daisy
!
|
July,
2018:
Daisy
had a family for all her 7 years. I should say, she had owners. Negligent
owners, who were told time after time, year after year, about heartworm
prevention. They never listened—and those were the good years. She
ran 48 acres, coming “home” as she pleased. A couple years
ago ‘the husband’ died. Turns out he was the one taking care
of the dogs, so life got even better (NOT!) for our girl. Eventually the
remaining owner surrendered the dogs - lucky girl Daisy came to Bluegrass
Doberman Rescue. Melissa and her band of Rescue Angels have already started
Daisy on her life-saving, heartworm-killing treatment. Interestingly enough,
during X-rays it was discovered she is full of buckshot! There’s
no way to tell who-when-why! She is adjusting well to being a full-time
inside girlie, which is good considering the down time she has coming!
Her bug-a-boo seems to be storms. She was in her crate during a recent
noisy storm which resulted in a nose full of scars. Ouch! Daisy does well
with other dogs and was more afraid of the cats then they were of her!
She is usually Velcro-ed to her foster mom’s side and there is no
way you’re going to get more than 3 feet away from her! BDR will
never turn away a HW+ dog, SND will never ask them to. Help BDR and SND
in this war where the wounded just keep coming. You can begin helping
Daisy by clicking on the PayPal button to the right. The friends/family
gift option means even more goes to the fight! You may also mail

that you do. Want to see another picture of this really a lovely Golden

This
little 8 year old girl was a stray from ‘down south’, so,
yes, of course, she has heartworms. She also has Sweet Melissa and her
Rescue Angels on her team—now she has SND also! Maybe you too??
Look at that kissable face! Her foster-mom has declared her to be a perfect
gem. She’s willing to play with the younger fosters but give respect
to the 2 older dogs. She’s smart, she’s social. She even thinks
out door kitties are pretty ok—but horses are too big! They need
to be barked at a lot to remind them the Dobe is always boss! She loves
walks… and she loves the dog bed next to her foster-parent’s
bed. (She also loves to sneak up into the bed as soon as she thinks they’re
sleeping. She loves to snuggle!) Gotta love Dobes of this age, they’re
just perfect! Certainly this little sweetie deserves a chance for a lot
more hugs and snuggles in her life!! You can begin helping Val by clicking

even more! The USPS is also ready and able if you prefer to mail
your gift in!

Elmer
!
|
July, 2018: Nine year old Elmer is a good old boy from down south. Elmer’s owners were moving and decided not to take him along... really?? Melissa, super-chief of Bluegrass Doberman Rescue, has no idea why because he could not be sweeter if he tried. Maybe it was because he’s getting old, but more likely it was because of his medical issues. Firstly, he has heartworms. Sure wish it was preventable… oh, wait it IS! Someone should get the news out—YOUR DOG DOES NOT HAVE TO HAVE WORMS IN THEIR HEART!!! Secondly he is peeing blood. Perhaps that’s the reason he was left outside so much… which put him in prime mosquito reach. Some diet changes and some antibiotics will take care of that—and we know Bluegrass Doberman Rescue will take care of the heartworms. What probably won’t get taken care of is the buckshot he picked up living outside. You have to wonder if the owners were the ones with the gun… Geesh… Anyway, BDR and SND have joined forces to make sure his senior years are happy, safe and comfortable. He is just a sweet old man looking for someone to belong to. He gets along great with the other fosters and knows to do exactly what the girls tell him to do! He just plain loves people and knows no strangers! What a sweetheart he is! You can begin helping Elmer by clicking on the PayPal button to the right, friends and family gift option gives even more! Plus the post office will deliver your donation by mail despite rain, snow or sleet (or something like that). No amount is ever too small, no help too little. It’s up to those of us who realize someone HAS to help to make changes happen. I thank you for being the someone who cares! In the coming days we'll be adding a link so you can send her a Senior Sponsorship too!! Thank you!! Carol Belknap, Elmer’s SND Case Manager. |

Rio
!
|
June, 2018: RIO, what can be said about this gorgeous boy? Once you see his precious face you will be in love! Only 1 and a half years old, purchased from a breeder (type/quality unknown) and then surrendered by his owner. Rio is now in the very capable hands of High Desert Doberman Rescue in New Mexico and in foster care. Rio became ill at his foster home, they thought it was from the heat. He wasn't keeping anything down, food or water. So, vomiting and then diarrhea and decreasing energy, scary stuff! Rio was rushed to the vet clinic to have his symptoms evaluated. Radiographs confirmed a problem with his stomach, and exploratory surgery was performed. It turned out Rio's spleen was so enlarged it was pushing on his stomach causing it to twist almost to the point of torsion! The spleen was removed and the stomach realigned. They also found abnormal anatomical location of one kidney, but thankfully that kidney is healthy and should not cause any problems for Rio. His prognosis is excellent! Good thing they took him in when they did or his outcome could have been much different. Now this rescue and Rio need our help with vet bills which are over $2,000 - budgetary health is not so rosy for this new Doberman rescue without our help and yours! And, just in case anyone is looking... he also needs a forever home! Rio is very protective any time another dog is near his human so he would do best as the only dog. He is great with people and would welcome a great new family who won't dump him again. He, like all Dobes, deserves a wonderful home with people who love him and from the looks of him that wouldn't be hard to do. You can make a tax deductible donation by using the PayPal button on the right or by mailing in your donation. Or, you can contact High Desert Doberman Rescue if you are interested in adopting this sweet guy! Thank you all for what you do for Dobermans! Dolly
!
|
June, 2018: It’s hard to guess how old Dolly is, she’s been used hard and put away wet her whole life. Let’s say she’s probably 7 or 8 years old. A good Samaritan in South Carolina found and saved her. She had been tied up and abandoned. Can you even imagine doing that? I can’t, not in my worst dream or Dolly's worst nightmare. Dolly was in horrible condition and had obviously been bred many times—receiving minimal, if any, care. So we might not be able to tell you how old she is, but we can say they have been long, hard years. Fortunately for her, she was rescued by our own Cindy and her Rescue Angels of the Doberman Underground. Their first priority was her health. She had a 3 pound tumor hanging from her addominal area - this was removed along with some surrounding lymphoid tissue. She has many teeth that are worn down and damaged, signs of a life in a cage. And, of course she has other smaller but suspicious masses all over her body which needed to be checked. Cindy and Gwenn are working hard to get her comfy now that she’s safe and protected. Sadly, her biopsy has come back and the news is bad. Cancer, and it’s everywhere. Cindy and Gwenn have now begun hospice care. Dolly will be given the best days of her life for however long she has left. She will get as much love, comfort and joy as she has time to enjoy. Please join DU and SND in bringing her peace. You may begin helping Dolly by clicking on the PayPal button to your right. The friends/family option gives her even more! And, of course, you can mail one in! Be one of the people who helps her finish her life with dignity and comfort, while enabling her rescuers to save other dogs also. As always, I cannot thank you enough for your continued dedication to our SNDobies!! Thank you, Carol Belknap, SND Case Manager. Please, KEEP SENDING DOLLY LOVE AND POSITIVE THOUGHTS!! |

Roo
!
|
June, 2018: In January of this year, 1 month old Roo was found discarded in a paper bag inside a shopping cart. Really?? You want to abandon your puppy and need a few things from Walmart at the same time? Really??? And by the way—January is winter here in Ohio… So you’ve got it, right? Month old, paper bag, shopping cart, winter. You might think this is enough for one baby to endure but he also had Parvo. He had been taken immediately to a local shelter, who nursed him through the Parvo. We all know the odds of survival—but he did! This little guy is a fighter! He loves life! At first the shelter thought he was a Dachshund until he kept growing and growing and lo and behold—he was a Doberman!! The breed confusion was easy to understand, he was born without front legs. His front shoulders are deformed and stuck out from the front of his body. Without their removal he cannot be fitted for a cart and when he falls forward it causes a lot of severe pain. For quality of life, he needs the shoulders removed. Roo was much loved at the shelter but it was time for him to walk on his own, which meant he had to move on. Doberman Underground has taken on the task of his surgery and fitting him for the cart that will let him be a dog with other dogs! We all know Cindy and Doberman Underground WON'T give up! Gwenn says Roo’s only limitation in life will be those they put on him so the next step is his cart. Then… nothing will hold him back!!! Look at this boy, full of life and needing our help to get there!! Please join with DU and SND in helping Roo! You may begin by clicking on the PayPal button to the right. The friends/family option gives him even more! Or you can just mail one in, like I do. It’s all good from Roo’s view!! Thank you once again for your continued devotion to our SNDobies!! Hurricane
Jane !
|
June, 2018: This adorable little muffin is Hurricane Jane, who is about a year old. Jane was a much loved pup that was surrendered by her owner when her relationship with her boyfriend went south. Both, apparently, loved Jane, but the surrendering parent had to move to a condo which is up three flights of stairs and has a yard about the size of a postage stamp. Jane has an eye issue of unknown origin and did have an appointment at UC Davis, but the appointment - although paid for - lapsed and Jane was surrendered. Jane's parent made arrangements to take her to the most loving arms and caring individuals at Dog Mountain Rescue. However, said parent forgot Jane's eye medicine... So, our friends at Dog Mountain will get Jane the help she needs with her poor eye. Jane is a wonderful little fireball and is very aptly named - she is sure to get her compatriots at the rescue up and dancing. Dobermans are a passion at DMR and they are a fantastic all-breed Rescue that has graciously helped not only Dobermans, but all dogs in need of hope, love and shelter, and there should be more people like the wonderful folks at this rescue. Whatever the issue with Jane's eye, they are at the ready to make sure that Jane has a happy, pain free outcome, and they need our help - this means YOU! Please donate to Special Needs Dobermans and all proceeds will go to Jane's case - just use her PayPal button on the right or specify Jane on your donation by mail. We will have updates as we get them, and you can see where your hard earned money goes! Want to see another picture of Miss Hurricane Jane gathering HUGE pine cones at the beach?? Just click here http://www.doberman911.org. Thank you from Dog Mountain, Hurricane Jane and me, Les Michell-Young. Miss HJ's SND Case Manager - see Jane run!!! |

Fern
!
|
June, 2018: Fern is a sweet senior girl who was picked up as a stray and taken to a shelter in the central valley of California by Animal Control, but was never claimed. Although she had a microchip the owner could never be traced. The shelter gave no indication of her age, but they did say that she seemed a little stiff and gave her previcox, that was three years ago! Since then she has been in the loving arms of Ann and Dog Mountain RescueAngels. They believe she is approximately 7 years old. They never noticed any stiffness and figured what the shelter saw was from her being confined to a small crate or whatever, who knows?? The rescue has not had a lot of interest in Fern due to the fact that she is pretty standoffish with other dogs - but she is still a very pretty girl regardless of her preferences! Recently she has started carrying her head down and having trouble moving. She was taken to the vet and given anti-inflammatories and pain meds, which helped initially. The vet said it could be a pinched nerve in her neck. She was given a stronger anti- inflammatory hoping the problem would be resolved, but once she was finished with those meds the condition returned and it was obvious she was in pain. She has gotten enough meds to last until she can see a specialist which will include x-rays at the very least. Ann suspects Wobblers but is hoping a pinched nerve is all it is! Once they get a diagnosis they will better know how to help her. We all understand how expensive these tests can be and we are hoping for the best outcome for Fern, but as we also know it is raining dobes at these rescues and they need all the help they can get. Please help these rescue angels to help Fern and so many other unfortunate Dobermans. You can make a tax deductible donation by using PayPal or by mailing in your donation. Thank you for helping!! Nancy Harwood, Fern's SND Case Manager. |

Pablo
!
|
June, 2018: We can’t tell you how old sweet Pablo is but around about 7 is probably close. A sweet, precious senior-dober. We also can’t tell you much about him except that his “loving” family dumped him. They didn’t even dump him at animal control—just dumped him on the street. Animal control did pick him up though, and the delay probably only added a few extra days (weeks?) to his constant pain. Baltimore SPCA contacted Doberman Pinscher Rescue of Pennsylvania as soon as his stray hold was cleared (a few more days of pain). DPRPA RescueAngel Trish has him safely in hand now and, one way or another, his pain will end. It will probably end in amputation of a fore-leg but should save his life. Pablo came in with a mass on his leg that is extremely painful for him. Even with pain meds he still limped. Of course Trish had the mass biopsied, but the results were not good. The pathologist saw changes in the walls of the cellss which point toward osteosarcoma. X-rays also show holes in the leg bones, most likely from the cancer. Without amputation, his life expectancy is about 3-6 months due to the pain. Perhaps less if the fragile bones fracture. With surgery and possibly follow-up oncology treatments, his life expectancy could be years, especially since the cancer has not spread to his lungs. Surgery was scheduled and accomplished and he's recovering nicely. Pablo is extremely friendly and snuggly—and he hasn’t given up. DPRPA and SND have joined together to give him a chance at life without pain but full of love. Won’t you join us? You can begin helping Pablo by clicking on the PayPal button to the right, using the friends and family option gives him even more! Of course you can always mail one in also! As always, we at SND sincerely appreciate your continued support of our SNDobies!! Want to see another picture of our Pablo?? Just click here http://www.doberman911.org. Thank you!!! Tyson
!
|
May, 2018: The eye candy you see before you is the very handsome Sir Tyson! This sweet as pie guy was recently adopted into what was to be his ‘furever home’. However, ten days following his adoption, Tyson was alone in his new home and broke through a second floor screen door and jumped off of the balcony - or so we're told... And, can you believe these great adopters were asking for their money back?? Really?? Concern, no? Although his injuries could’ve been worse, he did dislocate his hip, leaving him in great pain. Tyson went on with this dislocation for TEN days before the new adopter decided she didn’t want to pay for his surgery and just gave him back to the rescue! Say what??? The Rescue Angels of Doberman Pinscher Rescue of Fillmore, California knew Tyson needed medical attention ASAP. His surgery has been completed and Tyson is expected, in the next few months, to be fully healed. His FHO surgery rarely fails but is expensive (especially in California), leading DPR to request help from SND to assist in paying down the balance of Tyson’s procedure. Please remember NO donation is ever too small, and every penny adds up! You can send your gift via PayPal (if using PayPal, please click on ‘family and ‘friends’ and ‘send money’ to keep your donation Fee Free.) You can also mail your donation if you’d rather. As always, SND, the rescues, and the especially the Dobes all thank you so much for your continued donation, we definitely couldn’t do it without your generous support!! Tyson is a GORGEOUS Dude!! Want to see another picture of our Gentleman Tyson?? Just click here http://www.doberman911.org. Again, THANK YOU for your continued support of our SNDobies! Beth McCahren, SND Case Manager |

Blueberry
!
|
May, 2018: Beautiful Blueberry resided at Dana Johnson's Northern California Doberman Rescue before coming to the RescueAngels of Dog Mountain Rescue in California after Dana's untimely death. All of the NorCal Dobes were taken by AC once it was clear no other arrangments had been made. After closely working with shelter personnel, some of the NorCal Dobes were allowed to be transferred to DMR - Miss Blueberry is one of them. Ann and her team don't know a whole lot about this dear girl other than she's 8 years old and was used as a puppy machine until she couldn't be used any more. Blueberry has some kind of skin infection going on on her back and limb tops, and at first it was thought this was her only health problem. Sadly, this is not the case. Shortly after her arrival, it was observed that dear Blueberry has some problems emptying her bladder. She will have to see a specialist for a full metabolic work up to rule out Addison's or Cushings. This girl is so sweet and beautiful. She has had a chaotic and neglectful life before she came to Dana and she just wants to love and be loved. Please help dear Blueberry by sending your donation to SND to help meet her expenses. Every penny will go to Blueberry's medical needs to assist her in having a normal and happy life. Looking at her dear face certainly makes one wonder how such beauty could be so mistreated. SND has committed to do everything in it's power to help. Please join us! To help, just click on the You can also send your love to Blueberry via mail. And remember, NO amount is ever too small! Thank you from Miss Blueberry, Dog Mountain Rescue & Ann, Special Needs Dobermans and me. Les Michell-Young, SND Case Manager - longtime lover of the Blues! |

Jack
Dempsey !
|
May, 2018: Meet Jack Dempsey, he is a sweet almost nine year old Gent who really lives up to his name, he is a real fighter. Why would anyone abandon this sweet guy? That I don't know but I would love to just have a Doberman live to nine and I could never dump him in a shelter, but these people did. He was surrendered to Animal Control last February on the 11th of this year. On the 15th of February, Doberman Rescue of Rockdale in Georgia was notified and he was taken into their care. He was immediately taken to the vet where it was found that Jack was extremely dehydrated and malnourished, he was 30 lbs underweight which is a huge weight loss for a dog! This poor guy just can't catch a break, but he is a fighter! He was also discovered to have a herniated cervical disc as well as being vWD positive! Could it get any worse? Well, yes it could - just keep reading. After 3 weeks Jack was strong enough to be taken to foster care. Once in foster care he was taken to North Georgia Vet Specialists for Critical Care for more extensive treatment. He was found to also have an infestation of hookworms! Jack has been getting physical therapy and doing well until all of a sudden on May 16th he was found to have severe cellulitis on his side! So now the rescue is dealing with just one more problem. Through all of this Jack is a very happy boy with a great temperament and loves all people as well as life! All of these conditions are monumental physically as well as financially. This boy deserves to have a whole and happy life, but that can only happen if all of us pitch in to help this rescue with his treatment and his vet bills. If Jack hasn't given up why should we? You can help Jack's recovery by making a tax deductible donation using PayPal on the right or by mailing in a donation. Thank you all for you care of these not so fortunate Dobermans. Sophie
!
|
May, 2018: This beautiful young mother was tossed away like garbage. Sophie was found along with her 10 week old baby laying in a mountain of trash at the base of Sunrise Mountain in Nevada - an area reputed to be a dumping ground for animals. These two dear souls lived in filth, surrounded by rats and all other sorts of vermin for no one knows how long... however, there are heroes in this story. Enter John and his cohorts of Doberman Rescue of Nevada - Sophie and her daughter have been saved! Thankfully, Sophie's little puppy is doing great - a testament to Sophie's parental skills - but dear Sophie did not come out of this ordeal unscathed. Dear Sophie had a mouth full of infection and horrible, rotten teeth - and she only had 12 teeth to begin with! Who knows how many cans, how many metal containers she had to break open to feed herself and her baby? She came to Doberman Rescue of Nevada with an abdomen tight as a drum - there was substantial concern there were internal troubles - but after getting rid of the dump menu, all is well. Sophie was first spayed, then underwent a huge oral surgery, extracting her remaining 12 teeth. As John says, she is now a pudding puppy BUT she is a healthy pudding puppy! Both mom and daughter (who is of mixed heritage, but has lovely Dobe markings) are now up for the perfect home, where they will never, ever see another dump. Sophie's bills are high - over $2000.00. Doberman Rescue of Nevada saves many deserving Dobermans from uncertain fates, and they simply cannot do it without your help. They have enlisted the assistance of SND to help raise funds to pay for Sophie's medical bills. Please help us out! Every cent goes directly to the veterinarians who saved dear Sophie, so Doberman Rescue of Nevada can continue making happy endings to very sad stories like Sophie's. Thank you from this beautiful young mother, her lovely daughter, Doberman Rescue of Nevada, and lastly, me -- a huge fan of happy endings! You may begin helping Sophie by clicking on the PayPal button to the right. The family gift option, if available, saves money too! You may also mail one in. Want to see a picture of Miss Sophie and her pretty pup?? Just click here http://www.doberman911.org. As always I thank you for your continued support of our SNDobies! Tobias
!
|
May, 2018: Two year old Tobias came from Louisiana all the way to the RescueAngels of United Doberman Rescue in Minnesota for salvation and a new home with new hope. He had tested negative for heartworm at the rescue in Louisiana and had been on heartworm meds ever since. United Doberman Rescue had no trouble finding a home for this sweet, loyal Dober-Dude. Life was good until it was time for his check-up—heartworm positive! UDR asked for the test to be repeated with a different method, but it was still positive. While we understand that this can happen, the new family, not so much. They were not ready to face the cost or the effort of fixing him... It was too much money and they’d NEVER be able to keep him quiet during treatment - they were at a loss about what to do. Then came Easter and a big family gathering at their already stressed house—and Tobias supposedly did the “sneak snap” at a pant leg in passing—twice. Or maybe they needed a better reason to return him than illness. However, back he came and now UDR and SND are joining to get rid of the worms once and for all!!! Tobias has a new foster-dad who knows all about young Dober-Dudes. Life is good again, or will be sans worms. Please consider helping Tobias in his stubborn worm war! You can begin helping him by clicking on the PayPal button to the right. You may also mail one in. Any amount will kill a worm!!! Thank you so much for your efforts in the war!! We appreciate your continued support of our SNDobies!!! Carol Belknap, SND Case Manager. |

Zoe
!
|
May, 2018: Isn’t this youngster a beauty!! Say hello to 2 1/2 years young Zoe. Zoe was recently dumped because she has a serious problem with urinary incontinence. Par for the course, we know very little of her past. The only history we have is: 1) she’s had more than one owner 2) she was placed on Proin six months before she was even spayed and 3) just before she turned two years old she was prescribed DES. Neither the Proin or DES has helped her severe incontinence, so her most recent owner decided it was time to get rid of her. No further testing was done, they just washed their hands of Zoe and passed her on. The RescueAngels of San Antonio Doberman Advocacy and Rescue have taken Zoe under their angel wings and are determined to get to the root of her incontinence problem so that she can be treated accordingly. If your pet has ever had to have blood tests and scans done in search of a diagnosis, you are keenly aware of how quickly the fees add up. SADAR has come to SND requesting assistance in helping them cover Zoe’s testing as the search for the cause of her incontinence is explored. To help, just click on the links below for directions on how you can send a gift to help Zoe via mail or PayPal (if using PayPal click on the tabs ‘send money’ and the ‘friends and family’ tab to keep your donation fee free.) We at SND, as well as the rescue angels of SADAR are forever grateful for any amount you are able to donate, and remember, NO amount is ever too small! Thank you for supporting Zoe!! Hans
!
|
May, 2018: Hans is a sweet approximately 9 year old Gent who had been abandoned by his family. They moved and left this boy behind. The story the initial rescuers got was that he had been living in the woods alone for a year! A very unlikely story and the rescue didn't buy this story but no one will never know what really happened as he was turned him in to a shelter and then ended up in Dana Johnson's rescue. It was said he was coaxed out of the woods, but who knows?? Because of limited resources and the fact that Hans was also heartworm positive, Dana reached out to the RescueAngels at Dog Mountain Rescue who took Hans so he could get heartworm treatment. He has been treated and has recovered nicely. He also had trouble walking and had something going on with his neck. It turned out he had some growths in his neck along his spinal cord. After his surgery he had a six month recovery and needed to be kept in the house where he would be warm and comfy. Well, after all that time his angels didn't have the heart to put him out in the kennels so Hans is now a house dog! He had a more recent surgery for some skin tags and one growth on his leg that looked suspicious. No biopsy results yet. Stay tuned! Hans is a large boy and being a blue has a very thin hair coat, more fuzz than hair right now. Hans is a very friendly boy and gets along well with his male as well as his female house mates, although he does allow the female to bully him. Pretty par for the course for these sweet boys! He loves rides in the car and loves to be cuddled - no kidding he is a doberman! Oh and by the way he walks just fine now that the growths near the spinal cord have been removed. If you can help this rescue to pay some bills it would be so appreciated. Or if you are in the market for a sweet boy to adopt, he is available. Rescues makes such great sacrifices for these sweet dobermans the least we can do is help financially. Please begin helping Hans by clicking on the PayPal button to the right. Using the friends and family option, if available, will send even more directly to Hans. Remember, you may also mail one in. Mr. Hans will soon have his own Senior page so you may even want to Sponsor this gorgeous Senior Gentleman - just visit his Senior Page at http://www.doberman911.org/seniors/cases/ca_hans.html in the coming week! THANK YOU from Hans, DMR and SND as always... Nancy Harwood, Hans' SND Case Manager. |

Sadie
Grace !
|
April, 2018: This magnificent young princess is Sadie Grace, and she has quite a saga to tell you. Sadie was owned and loved by a medical student who, in his second year of studies, found himself overwelmed by his duties and surrendered his beloved 3 year old girl to Boone Animal Rescue Colaition (BARC). Eva and her colleagues at BARC contacted one of their rescue partners because Sadie appeared to be underweight and feeling a bit punky. There she was vetted and was treated for Lyme disease as her lymph nodes appeared enlarged. I wish this was the end of the story - but it isn't. After a month long round of doxycycline, one of Sadie's lymph nodes was still problematic - in fact, getting bigger. It was then that the partner rescue had her biopsied for lymphoma... and she unfortunately, she tested positive. After this rescue considered the situation given all the Dobes they are presently treating with limited budget, they decided the best they could do was to finance palliative care for Sadie as they could not afford the $2000.00 ++ it would take for chemo to treat Sadie's lymphoma. Therefore, Sadie was returned to the loving arms of BARC, who have decided to treat Sadie's lymphoma with chemo and contacted SND and a number of other organizations to raise money for Sadie's treatments. As stated before, Sadie is only 3 years old and presently is a happy, vibrant girl who is very loving with her foster parents as well as her foster siblings. She deserves the best chance we can give her. Sadie had her first treatment on the 24th and will follow the protocol determined by her vet. She continues to be her happy self as of this writing... she is young, strong and beautiful, and we are going to fight with all the strength in our hearts to give Sadie a chance of a healthy, happy life. Please, send a donation to SND to help this beautiful, young girl. You may begin helping Sadie by clicking on the PayPal button to the right. The family gift option, if available, saves money too! You may also mail one in. Want to see a picture of Miss Sadie's wondrous look after her first treatment?? Just click here http://www.doberman911.org. As always I thank you for your continued support of our SNDobies as do the Angels of BARC, Eva and her colleagues and of course Sadie!! Lydia
!
|
April, 2018: Six year old Lydia arrived at the Alabama shelter in the back of a pick-up truck. She was laying on her side and all 4 legs were shackled. It was also clearly not the first time she had been treated in this manner. Six, yes, 6 years of pure, unadulterated hell. This girl can barely stand up and walk around! Seriously, what did they think (yeah, right... THINK) she was going to do? Luckily for sweet Lydia, Melissa and the Rescue Angels of Bluegrass Doberman Rescue saved her. It was probably her last chance for salvation and I am so glad these loving arms found her in time. Her life has been horrendous. Melissa tried to put a collar over her head and Lydia was so scared she fell over on her side and wouldn’t get up until Melissa picked her up. Lydia is able to stand and move around a little but her back legs are very weak and shaky. Before Melissa could get to her, the shelter had spayed her. Normally a good thing, not so much in her condition and with a high load of heartworms. Yes, of course, she has heartworms like all the forgotten dogs from the south. So now she is visibly anemic—and has picked up a nasty kennel cough to boot. Despite all this illness and the newness of her world, she is the sweetest thing you could ever ask for. Melissa says she has already fallen for this girl! Lydia is very cat and dog friendly. She just had a run-in with a momma cat and kittens Melissa is also fostering—a bloody nose later, a hard lesson learned. In spite of this she still wouldn’t think of hurting Momma, babies—or anyone else. There was a language barrier when her “family” dumped her and no one is sure of her age but Melissa thinks about 6 years old. She’s acting much older though, and for now she just wants a comfy place to sleep… and help. Please consider joining BDR and SND in healing this girl’s mind and body. You may begin helping Lydia by clicking on the PayPal button to the right. The family gift option, if available, saves money too! You may also mail one in, which is what I’m going to do, come on—join me! Want to see a bigger picture of love and hope?? Just click here http://www.doberman911.org. As always I thank you for your continued support of our SNDobies and, most especially, your help in the Worm Wars!!!! Thank you! Carol Belknap, Lydia’s SND case manager and supporter. |

Blitz
!
|
April, 2018: Who can even understand the thinking of those who just dump their dogs at a shelter, not caring that they’ll be afraid… not knowing if they’ll live or die… no concern for the hell they’ll go through until they are either saved or killed. The rescue angels of Dog Mountain Rescue in Willits, California don’t get it and neither do we at SND. But dumped is exactly what recently happened to eight year old Blitz and three year old Bella, a bonded pair who were discarded without reason. They hadn’t done anything wrong, and they’re sweet and friendly Dobes, they just plain and simple weren’t wanted any longer. It’s no surprise that neither have had vet check ups in quite some time, and Blitz in particular needs some immediate care. First of all he needs routine labs as well as a senior panel to see if he has any health issues. If his labs are within normal limits, he can be cleared for surgery, namely neutering and a dental. Labs are always costly, and who knows if any issues that need treated will arise once the results are read. And we all know that surgical issues are always a possibility with any type of operation and anesthesia. Blitz’s new fan club would like to have his medical issues addressed so that together, he and his sister can move on to their forever homes, where they’ll be loved and cherished for the rest of their days. If you are able, could you please assist SND and DMR in helping Blitz along his way to a better future? NO amount is ever too small and every cent of your tax deductible donation will go to Blitz. You can mail your gift or use PayPal button to the right (just click on the ‘send money’ tab and then the ‘family and friends’ tab to keep your donation fee free if your account allows!) You may even want to Sponsor this Senior Gentleman - just visit his Senior Page at http://www.doberman911.org/seniors/cases/ca_blitz.html The rescues we help as well as SND thank you ever so much for your continuing support. Tinkerbell
!
|
April, 2018: When Tinkerbell was dumped in a shelter in South Carolina she was 42 pounds and obviously recently pregnant. Look at those eyes and imagine 42 pounds and pregnant at all! That is just wrong in so many ways. She’s up to 46 pounds now—but she’s still trying to recover from many (likely back-to-back) pregnancies. Needless to say this will be her last litter. The “dumper” claimed she is 2 or 3 years old because this is ONLY her third litter. Melissa and her Angels at Bluegrass Doberman Rescue figure she is no more than a year old, probably more like 9 months old. And very recently pregnant. Let’s not forget the pregnant so many times part. And she has heartworms. Of course she has heartworms—why would they provide medicine to a disposable dog? Melissa says she is cat and dog friendly and so far house and crate trained! She is going to make someone a wonderful companion, isn’t she? Tinkerbell loves to play and act silly (like her namesake?) like the puppy she is but soon the ugly part of her treatment will start and she will need to be kept extra calm. A worthy challenge for her Foster-Mom! You can help too. You can begin to help tiny Tinkerbell by clicking on the PayPal button to the right. If you have the gift to family option, even more goes to her! You may also mail one in like I do, dinosaur that I am. I feel the constant need to make up for what “human” beings have done to these Dobes—and I thank you from the bottom of my heart for caring also. You must care or you wouldn’t be reading this. So… Thank You!!!! Carol Belknap, SND case manager. |

Beatrice
!
|
April, 2018: Beatrice was turned into a shelter in Alabama because her family was moving. Or, you can pick whichever lame, over-used, dumb excuse you want to say - she couldn’t make any more money for them. At 4 years old she’s all used up. Done. Abandoned. Thrown away. Then comes a ray of sunshine—our own Sweet Melissa of Bluegrass Doberman Rescue. She knows exactly what to do! Scoop this girlie up, feed her, love her, earn her trust—and treat her for heartworms! Of course she has heartworms; preventatives cost money. Her whole purpose was to MAKE money, not cost money… In spite of her heartworm load, and signs that she had given birth not long before, the shelter spayed her. So, obviously she needs a moment before beginning her treatments. Who knows? In time her puppies may show up HW positive at the shelter too... This respite is giving Melissa time to get to know her, something she loves to do. Beatrice is very sweet, but very shy too. She is slowly learning people aren’t going to hurt her anymore (it really helps a lot if you happen to have some cheese :)! Every time you put her outside, she wonders if it’s for good. Something she’s obviously very familiar with. This is so heartbreaking to watch. Every time I watch a dog go through it I dislike our species even more… Beatrice is good with other dogs, cats, you name it. She’s crate trained although she’d much rather be with you! Doesn’t she sound like the perfect blue lady to grace your couch? Well, we have to get her ready first. BDR and SND are asking for help getting her there. You may begin helping beautiful Beatrice by clicking on the PayPal button to the right. The gift to family option helps even a few pennies more, and every penny counts! Mailing one in also works. It all works, if it helps these wonderful Dobes! Thank you so much for your support of our SNDobies!! Carol Belknap, SND case manager. |

Dasha
!
|
April, 2018: Life long companions Dasha and Dante were abandoned by their “family” - at 7 and 8 years old respectively - they were DUMPED at a shelter. They were overweight with old dog lumps and certainly weren’t puppies anymore… I guess that was a good enough reason for their owners to throw them away. I wonder if they picked up 2 brand new puppies on the way home? Luckily all of us love and value our adults and our seniors most especially. The shelter looked at these beautiful Dobermans and knew they belonged in Doberman Rescue. So they called… and Doberman Pincher Rescue answered! Ardis and her Angels have them safely in hand. Dasha had a lump on her foot that needed surgical removal. Unfortunately suspicious tissue had infiltrated the adjacent toe and it had to be removed also. She is healing well and life has got to be looking brighter than it has in a long time! But is does leave medical bills to be covered so the next Dasha and Dante can be helped too! Please consider joining DPR and SND in our quest to cover Dasha’s surgical bills. No amount is ever too small, no help too little - and fully 100% will be applied to Dasha's expenses. Sometimes these wonderful old girls just need to know someone cares. You may help Dasha by clicking on the PayPal button to the right. The family gift option, if available, helps even more. You may also mail in your donation, it’s all to the good!! You may even want to Sponsor this Senior Lady - just visit her Senior Page at http://www.doberman911.org/seniors/cases/ca_dasha.html and you'll meet her BFF Dante too - You could Sponsor a Senior twice - Dasha AND Dante! As always, I sincerely appreciate your continued support of these SNDobies!! Carol Belknap, SND Case Manager. |

Lady
!
|
April, 2018: This little "Lady" has been at the Rescue Ranch for several months, December, 2017 to be exact. She was first rescued from an animal shelter after being confiscated from her "owner" along with another dog. Rescuers were told that the owner was a Doberman breeder who had too many dogs, and that Lady was willingly relinquished. The shelter determined that Lady would be best cared for by a breed rescue and that's when Doberman Pinscher Rescue of Filmore, California (Dobies and Little Paws Rescue) stepped up to help Lady and make sure she got the care she needed. Lady was not well socialized and as we all know shelters aren't known for their socialization classes! Lady had never walked on a leash and seemed to have no idea that humans were supposed to give comfort and affection. She is very social with other dogs, of course they were the only warm bodies that ever interacted with her. She has no fear aggression and is finally receiving the love and attention she deserves, as well as walks to the dog park and other nice experiences like riding in a car, which she seems to enjoy... as well as other gentle training. Back yard breeders don't realize (or care) what they are doing to these wonderful companion animals by just using them as puppy manufacturers! I am sure it won't take long for this Lady to realize all humans are not as cold and uncaring as her first human! Now the reason we are here today--- following a walk recently, her FosterMom noticed large swelling in the abdominal area which was tentatively diagnosed as a mammary tumor. I am sure she was bred every heat cycle so it's no wonder! Lady is only 3-4 years old and now is spayed! She has already had her surgery so now we just need to help them pay for it, and hope the tumor isn't malignant and hasn't spread to other organs. At 3-4 years of age Lady has a long life ahead of her - to be someones loyal and loving companion - please help us accomplish that goal. Every little bit helps and Lady, DALPR Angels and SND thank you from the bottom of our hearts. Please begin helping Lady by clicking on the PayPal button to the right. Using the friends and family option, if available, will send even more directly to Lady. Remember, you may also mail one in. Want to see Lady's pretty face some more?? Juniper
!
|
March, 2018: Sweet and spicy Juniper is probably, best guess, about 5 years old, although no one has told her that yet. She prefers to be a puppy, full of energy, wonder and love. We know literally nothing about her except that she exists—and is safe! Melissa and her Rescue Angels at Bluegrass Doberman Rescue have her and you don’t get much safer than that! Juniper is a stray from Tennessee, and like so many coming from the South—she’s heartworm positive. Yep, it’s another worm dog, another girl worth saving. Another dog some family somewhere is looking for to complete their family circle. Juniper is a dobie lovebug—she hasn’t met a stranger yet! She loves everyone, including the other dogs at her foster home, although the female of the household has had to lay down the puppy-law a few times! Puppy energy knows no bounds or boundaries! She has already shown how deeply attached she can become to “her” humans, causing a little anxiety when they go away again. Well, if that’s her only problem, what can I say, we’ve all dealt easily with that! Please consider helping BDR and SND save this super beautiful red girl. You can begin helping Juniper by clicking on the PayPal button to the right. A money gift to friends and family gives her even more! Of course you can also mail one in, like I do. There are many ways to help! Who knows, perhaps you are the family she is getting ready for! I would like to thank you—for the fact that you are here, reading this and helping deserving Dobes! You people are great! Thank you, thank you, Carol Belknap, Juniper’s case manager. |

Oscar
!
|
March, 2018: Oscar is still a baby at about 19 months, and yet he was found running amok with a few other dogs in a parking lot. Oscar and his compatriots were soon scooped up by animal control and subsequently brought to the local Animal Shelter. Happily the shelter contacted San Antonio Doberman Advocacy and Rescue and sent our little rascal to their welcoming arms. However, there's a problem... Heartworms. It never ceases to anger me that continually, people refuse to protect their dogs from this scourge. Who would allow this delightful baby to run loose anyway?? (Rhetorical question, reallly...) I am so happy Oscar is now with people who will care for him, get rid of the deadly heartworms and find him a loving home. SADAR has saved hundreds and hundreds of Dobermans and given them a wonderful future, but they cannot do it without your help. Please, you can help by making your tax deductible donation by using the PayPal button on the right or by mailing one in. Let's help get this delightful baby well AND help SADAR help other Dobes. Thank you from Oscar, SADAR and !!! Les Michell-Young, SND Case Manager - time for puppy breath! |

March, 2018: Meet Moose! Less than a year old, hit by a car, shoveled into the back of the paddy wagon and there you have... A youngster, confused, in pain and then what?? Deus ex machina and this compassionate Shelter fulfilled the meaning of that word. They gave Moose shelter and called in the Rescue Squad!! That's right, the RescueAngels from Dobies and Little Paws stepped right up, swooped him over to their vet who quickly found that this Little Big Moose had a fractured femoral head which would be best addressed by quickly scheduling an emergency Femoral Head Osteotomy (FHO) which would give this youngster the best avenue to a healthy, pain-free life! Who could ask for more? Certainly not young Moose!! Don't you just want to be a part of this success story for this young DobeDude? Sure you do!! Join us now by making your tax deductible donation using the PayPal button on the right or by mailing one in. Be a part of his ongoing happy future!! Thank you for your faith DALPR!! Lily

March, 2018: Little Lily is 3 years old—and homeless. Her people decided to make it a multi-dog household and unfortunately the other dog had a bad attitude. The pit bull they added didn’t like other dogs and several fights broke out. So her family, and I use the term loosely, decided someone had to go to the shelter. The shelter people told them they’d have a much easier time finding a home for a pretty Dober-girlie than a pittie with a habit of biting people. Yes, the new dog already had a bite record. So guess who they decided to dump? In truth it was a good move from Lily’s point of view—she left them in her rearview mirror and moved on! The shelter did a lot for this girl. They even did a surgery to clean up her bite wounds, which were bad enough to require drains. They also spayed her—but never did a heartworm test, go figure. But all that is in good hands now, the loving hands of sweet Melissa and her Rescue Angels from Bluedgrass Doberman Rescue have her now! Luckily, Lily’s foster-family have fallen in love with her. They were devastated by the heartworm diagnosis, along with the news there is already some heart damage. Melissa’s wonderful vet feels she will come through the treatment just fine, and her new family are delighted! She is their first Dobe and they are completely in love with her and the breed! They have already found out the fun and joy of living with a beautifully behaved Dober-girl. They are amazed at the Velcro-ness, something we all know so well! They have declared her the perfect dog! Now, you know what comes next… I’m going to ask you to help another heartworm dog. Please consider helping Bluegrass Doberman Rescue and SND kill some more worms! I have asked you before and will undoubtedly ask you again (you know how much I hate them!). But right now, I’m asking for Lily, with so much life to live and people to love her! You can begin helping Lily by clicking on the PayPal button to the right. Using the friends and family option, if available, will send even more directly to Lily. You may also mail one in. It all works and any amount helps! Speaking of helping, I would like to thank all of you who help my heartworm cases! Every dog saved is a victory!!! Thank you!!!!! Ruger
!
|
March, 2018: SND’s newest Dobergent is four year old Ruger. Not much is known about this fellow other than he was rescued from a terrible hoarding situation and his ‘owner’ was hauled off to prison on drug and theft charges. Optimum living conditions for Ruger…. NOT! Ruger’s rescue landed him in an animal shelter, which just happened to be a stroke of good luck for this guy! The shelter staff noticed obvious signs of neglect and knew Ruger needed specialized treatment before he could be adopted. That’s when they contacted the Rescue Angels of United Doberman Rescue and Canine Castaways of Minnesota who wasted no time in getting Ruger the care he needed. Upon a thorough physical examination, Ruger was found to have several bad teeth, including a canine that has actually turned black!! Ruger needs to have dental surgery to remove these rotted teeth before he gets a systemic infection. When his physical condition is up to par, he’ll be able to move on to a better life where he will be cherished and have every need forever provided for! Your tax deductible gift to Ruger to help him along on this journey counts!! NO amount is ever too small and every cent of your donation will go toward Ruger’s care. You can mail your gift or, if you prefer, use PayPal (if using PayPal, click on ‘send money’ and then ‘family and friends’ to keep your gift fee free). So very many Dobermans have been saved due to your continued generosity, and we at SND along with the many rescues who step up to the plate for these precious beings can’t thank you enough!! Tory
!
|
March, 2018: Well, what can I say other than how sick I am of reading about people dumping their Dobermans for whatever reason. This beautiful, regal, loyal breed does not deserve this kind of treatment. They love us unconditionally and would die for us and yet for the stupidest reasons people just throw them away. Take Tory for instance, a sweet six year old fawn boy dumped by his owner at a high kill shelter(?) in Houston Texas. Tory was, of course, terrified and heartbroken! Several people showed interest in adopting Tory but none ever showed up which resulted in Tory being placed on their euthanize list. I can't even imagine this sweet boy living with a family for six years and then suddenly thrust into a kill shelter with little to no human contact. Thankfully, he has been rescued by A Barking Chance Animal Rescue and he is now safe, but he has some health issues. Tory desperately needs a dental and probably a few extractions. Can you say neglect?! My six year old's teeth are pristine! Anyway, on top of that Tory has a golf ball size tumor on his chest and additional small masses. The tumor on Tory's chest is a liposarcoma, a rare and aggressive cancer which needs to be removed immediately. Excision of this tumor with very wide margins to be sure it is completely removed along with the smaller tumors. He will also need x-rays and ultra sound to make sure the cancer has not spread to his internal organs. Tory is scheduled for March 14th for surgery which will be extensive and expensive. This may seem extreme but Tory's rescue team is convinced he deserves the very best to save his life. He is eating and drinking, playing and loving every dog, cat and human he encounters. His quality of life at this point is excellent and regardless of the final diagnosis once all is said and done, Tory deserves the best chance at a great life! So, please find it in your heart to contribute to the wonderful life Tory deserves! You can help when you make a tax deductible donation by using the PayPal button or by mailing in a donation. We thank you ahead of time for all you do for these wonderful dobes! Nancy Harwood, Tory's SND Case Manager and new friend!! |

Gray
!

March, 2018: What a striking and lovely boy Gray is. What is also striking is the fact that Gray, who was found roaming the streets in California, wound up in a kill shelter on the euthanasia list. There was no room in any of the California rescues, and the public showed no interest in this beautiful 6 year old. However, Gray's luck took a turn for the better when a new New Mexico Rescue, A Barking Chance, stepped up to the plate and had a local rescue foster pull him and arrange transport to their welcoming arms in New Mexico. The night before Gray's scheduled freedom ride, Gray found himself at the emergency vet - he had eaten a towel and had a huge, serious intestinal obstruction - poor Dude! Gray underwent emergency surgery immediately - which, no doubt, saved his precious life - and he is well on his way to a full recovery. Saving this stunning boy's life did not come cheaply, it's California!! and the bill is approaching $5000.00! A fledgeling rescue three states away can hardly stay afloat with an expense of this size. Gray is doing well now, and is learning all about what it's like to be loved. Please help the wonderful lifesavers at A Barking Chance pay Gray's staggering bill with your contribution to Special Needs Dobermans. Every cent goes to pay off Gray's bill and will help this small rescue help other dogs. You can help when you make a tax deductible donation by using the PayPal button on the right or by mailing in a donation. Thank you from lovely Gray, A Barking Chance's Anthony and Michelle and me too! Want to visit our newest Poster Dude? Just click here http://www.doberman911.org. Savannah

March, 2018: I can tell you almost nothing about sweet Savannah. She was a stray that appeared seemingly out of nowhere in South Carolina. Melissa estimates her age to be around 2. Yep, that’s right, Melissa. This little cutie was lucky enough to be scooped up by Melissa and her band of Rescue Angels, Bluegrass Doberman Rescue. So now we know she’s safe and loved! So, what does she need to be healthy enough for her forever home? You knew the answer already, didn’t you? The Dreaded Heartworm. Battle Worm continues... and hopefully with your help, we’ll keep winning. Please consider joining Bluegrass Doberman Rescue and SND in the fight! How can you not help the Easter Dobe-bunny in training? She’s such a good natured goof, she enjoyed her costume, posing for loads of adorable pics. We promise to post a favorite EB picture on Easter Sunday! Staying in the Easter theme, one of the animals she likes are chickens and not KFC either... go figure! You can begin helping Savannah by clicking on the PayPal button to the right. The friends option may help even more if it is available. You may also mail one in, simple as pie! No amount of help in this war is too little. It all goes directly to this sweet chicken-lickin' baby-bunny too! As always, I appreciate your continued support of our SNDobies!!! Thank you! Carol Belknap, SND case manager and Savannah fan!

Abbi
!
|
March, 2018: Here we go again… Meet beautiful 6 year old Abbi, another innocent Dobergirl dumped in a shelter by none other than the very people who were to love and care for her for her entire life, not until they didn’t feel like she was worth their time anymore. Sadly, it’s obvious Abbi was not loved OR cared for as would be expected, for she was tossed away with not only a case of heartworms but with horrible horrible teeth as well. The rescue angels of United Doberman Rescue and Canine Castaways of Minnesota stepped in on Abbi’s behalf and have already provided the very costly heartworm treatment necessary to save Abbi’s life. Now it’s time for her dental surgery, another costly procedure. Abbi’s teeth are cracked and rotted and she even has exposed roots! How long she has suffered with this dental pain and inability to eat properly is anyone’s guess, but we know it’s been quite some time. Abbi needs to have several teeth extracted not only to provide her pain relief and the ability to eat better, but also to avoid infection that could literally poison her system and cause her death. Abbi’s rescue angels have come to SND for assistance with her dental surgery. Would you consider a donation towards Abbi’s care? NO gift is ever too small and to donate is easy peasy! You can either mail a check or use the PayPal button to the right. (If using PayPal click on ‘send money’ then ‘friends and family’ to keep your donation fee free). SND greatly appreciates your continued support of our Dobes in need!! Thank you!! Beth McCahren, Abbi's SND Case Manager and new friend!! |

Riley
!
|
February, 2018: Riley is just a puppy, he’s not even a year old yet. What a great time that should be with your beautiful youngster, right? Not for this little guy, he got dumped at a truly horrid shelter! Lucky boy, Cindy and the RescueAngels of Doberman Underground found him in time! He went into the shelter weighing 120 pounds—came out at 91 pounds. While this weight loss might be a good thing in some overweight cases, it was not so for poor Riley. He was so sick when he was rescued he was taken immediately to a local ER. He was too sick to move until today—Monday. He was vomiting, had diarrhea and was producing massive amounts of green mucus. His WBC is 26,000 and his lymph nodes are enlarged. He’s a very sick boy, but is being very stoic, in true Doberman fashion! He has youth and Cindy on his side. Youth helps a lot and we all know Cindy won’t give up!! Please consider joining Doberman Underground and SND in healing this super cute boy. Just look at that face, it just begs for kisses!! You can begin helping Riley get ready for his future by clicking on the PayPal button to the right. The friends gift option helps a few cents more, and every penny counts!! You can also mail one, I do, it works just fine! Thank you in advance for your help, because I just know that face will grab you too! Want to see it closer up? February, 2018: Hereby hangs a tale and a tail... In saying not all shelters are alike, we'd be making the understatement of all time! Yes, there are even Good Sams in that realm... Lucky for this all-natural young lady (2-3 years old), she found her own GS after a horrific encounter with a car which resulted in several fractured lumbar vertebrae. She amazed everyone with her ability to walk in her condition. John at the Oakland shelter became her special angel. Her "owner" was found but cared nothing about taking her back - you've heard that story before. John began his quest to find help for his new little ward and eventually found his way to SND. SND contacted the already overloaded Dobeerman Rescues in California and found a place for her with the RescueAngels of Dog Mountain Rescue!! No surprise as they somehow always manage to find 'room at the inn' here. Her initial exam showed a grossly damaged lumbar spine (see inset below) and she was taken to DMR's vets to see what, if anything, could be done for her. Her exploratory surgery showed the spine undergoing some changes which seemed to stabilize and preserve cord integrity which was why she could be mobile at all. It was decided to let the healing continue in this aging fracture rather than attempt a possible repair at this time. She came through her surgery just fine but this tale does not end here. She will likely need additional intervention to be certain that catastrophic changes don't ensue. Can you hear the clicking of the numbers on the invoices so far? Yes, we need and hope for your help for Miss Hope!! Does this precious creature deserve your help? Don't they all? You already know what our answer is: YES!! Please, please begin helping Miss Hope by clicking on the PayPal button to the right and if your account allows, the gifts to friends option gets even more directly to her. You may also mail one in. No amount is ever too small and every penny will go directly to Hope's expenses. THANK YOU Good Sam John, DMR Angels and SND Donors too!! Mason
!
|
February, 2018: Well Mason, what can we say, another Doberman failed by an inhuman? I made up that word for the so called humans who dump dogs, any dog, for whatever reason! Where is the sense of responsibility? Don't get me started on that subject! Anyway, Mason is a sweet, approximately 3 year old, gorgeous DUDE dumped at a California shelter by his owners who say he was becoming aggressive. He's about 15-20 pounds underweight, maybe he just want something to eat?? Duh? Due to this, the shelter deemed him unadoptable even though he was sweet and friendly as can be with the staff. He was going to be euthanized. He was understandably stressed at the shelter, spinning in his cage, not eating and rarely sleeping. California shelters are pretty much ALWAYS at capacity, so, Doberman Rescue of Nevada RescueAngels led by the Getters, stepped up to go and rescue this boy. Driving back to Las Vegas, Mason was very affectionate for several minutes before falling into a much needed sleep. Once in Las Vegas Mason was very friendly with the vet until they tried to examine his mouth. He jerked away and made some sort of noise, a growl? maybe. The remainder of the oral exam was much more gentle and they found a chipped tooth with an exposed nerve. It was a large upper canine. He was NOT aggressive - he was reacting to pain. It seems someone caused him physical pain and he remembered it. He also reacted when someone held his snout, of course due to the painful tooth. But he quickly recovered and apologized when it was obvious he was safe with these people - maybe not so much with his former inhumans! Gee, I wonder how that tooth got broken, certainly wasn't from eating, or, perish the thought... brushing?? The vet put on his Dentist hat and worked his magic with cleaning and bonding that tooth thus eliminating the cause of Masons pain and saving his tooth too! Mason is understandably leery of being touched near his mouth, but he is learning to trust good HUMANS! Mason is a work in progress. Aggressive? YEP! he aggressively leans, stands on toes and snuggles on the couch! And to think his young life was nearly ended because no one cared enough to try and find out why he was acting differently! Well, I guess if you don't care enough to feed your dog, it stands to reason you wouldn't spend money for a vet to check him out! Thank goodness DRNV got him out of there!! Can you imagine if there had been small children around him when he was so painful?! He would have been executed on the spot!! Anyway this wonderful rescue needs our help with Mason's vet bills. I know he will turn around and make someone a wonderful companion. Please help us help Mason and DRNV with a tax deductible donation. You can use PayPal (button on the right and if your account allows, the send $$ to to friends option gets even more directly to his Fund) or just mail in your donation. Thank you!! Genie
!
|
February, 2018: This Genie is truly old - Well, maybe not as old as Aladin's genie - or maybe in her case it's the mileage. She guesstimated to be well over 10 somewhere, an age we’d all love our seniors to achieve!! Genie didn’t have a great life, actually it was pretty horrible. She was one of the 116 Dobes freed from the South Carolina puppy-mill horror of 2017. She has been living happily and comfortably all this time due to the Angels of Doberman Underground, led by our own dear Cindy. Cindy addresses Genie's medical issues as they arise and unfortunately more have arisen. Genie needs some dental work and some of her lumps have to come off - on it’s own quite a vet bill but if you add Riley’s (see above for DU's concurrent case) growing bills, it becomes enormous. Doberman Underground and SND are joined in keeping this wonderful old girl comfy as long as possible. You can help Miss Genie too, just click on the PayPal button to the right (and if your account allows, the gifts to friends option gets even more directly to her) or you may just mail one in. No amount is too small, especially to keep a SeniorLady going! As always, we appreciate your continued support of our SNDobies!!! Thank you!! Carol Belknap, Genie’s SND Case Manager and fellow Senior! |

Cherry
!
|
February, 2018: This stunning 6 year old is now known as Cherry, and she is just beginning a brand new life of love and kindness. This lovely girl was discovered limping down a Georgia highway by a caring individual who gently scooped her into his car and got her to a local veterinarian. When scanned, it was discovered she was sold by a large BYB who did not want her back. When the veterinarian was looking Cherry over, Cherry's rescuer was checking into Doberman Rescues and contacted the heroes of Georgia Doberman Rescue, who gladly stepped up to help our girl. At last, life was about to begin to be a 'bowl of cherries' for this lovely Lady. Cherry was subsequently taken to Georgia Doberman Rescue's vet, where a full work up was performed. It was discovered that not only did dear Cherry have a shattered forelimb from a confrontation with a car, but she also had a mild pneumothorax (collapsed lung). Cherry's vets decided because her poor leg was broken in so many places, her best chances of a full recovery were with an amputation... so, on the 26th of January, Cherry finally began her journey to health and happiness. As it stands now, Cherry is doing very well, but faces more surgery for her spay once she's recovered fully from this huge surgery. Look at these pictures - this girl is truly a baby doll. With everything she's been through, she's sweet, happy and vibrant, and I am so very grateful for not only the nice person that initially coaxed Cherry into their car, but to the amazing people of Georgia Doberman Rescue, who have saved so many beautiful Dobes over the years. Cherry's surgery and follow up care cost over $3000.00 and they have come to SND for fundraising assistance. Please consider the wonderful and important work Doberman Rescues do everyday and donate to Special Needs Dobermans to help defray their costs. Every last cent goes to pay Cherry's medical bills, and looking at her beautiful face, you can just see the gratitude in her eyes. You can begin helping Miss Cherry by clicking on the PayPal button to the right and if your account allows, the gifts to friends option gets even more directly to her. You may also mail one in. No amount is ever too small and every penny goes directly to her expenses. Need another look at this sweet face? Get your dose of sweet Eye Candy here http://www.doberman911.org. This girl has captured my heart, and I know she, Georgia Doberman Rescue and I thank you! Les Michell-Young SND Case Manager - Cherry Fan #1 |

Maybell
!
|
January, 2018: No one has ever wanted poor little 3 year old Maybell, at least not so far. Let’s see what we can do about that, shall we? After all, she’s a happy, friendly, active young Dobergirlie. She’s very smart and curious, she’d probably be a great performance dog—just picture her whizzing through the weave poles! She’s even good with other dogs and now that she has a foster-mom, her coat is looking much better. In the beginning it was pretty rough, but foster-mom love heals a lot! Especially when it’s probably the first love she’s ever known! When she was just about a year old her “owner” asked a friend to take care of her “temporarily”, then cut off all contact. The woman called, emailed, everything—no reply. After 2 full years she FINALLY finds him and he says to go ahead and turn her over to animal control. Lucky little Maybell caught the first break of her life when the woman turned her over to Doberman Rescue of Atlanta. Jane and her band of Rescue Angels just scooped this little girl up and promised her a better life. They’re teaching her about the love and care she deserves and telling her about the Forever Family who will eventually take her truly home. There’s really only one thing between her and them—you guessed it—heartworms. My personal enemy, and one we never stop fighting. It’s still January and she is not the first heartworm case I’ve brought to you this year. Please consider joining Doberman Rescue of Atlanta and SND in getting this girl healthy enough to find out what she’s been missing. You can begin helping Maybell by clicking on the PayPal button to the right and if your account allows, the gifts to friends option gets even more directly to her. You may also mail one in. No amount is too small, after all she’s just a little girl, and every penny goes directly to her. I want to thank you all for your continued support of our dear SNDobies, you are the best! Conrad!
|
January, 2018: This most handsome gentleman you see before you is Conrad. Conrad was found amid the chaos of the Thomas fire in California. He was rescued by a steadfast friend of Doberman Pinscher Rescue in Fillmore named Betty, who took him under her wing when the Rescue had to be evacuated due to the fire. He is now safely ensconced with DALPR at the ranch and doing well. We don't know much about this dear boy. What we do know is that when Betty found him, one of his rear legs was horribly swollen. Betty immediately took him to her vet, where it was discovered our dear Conrad had a very nasty femoral fracture that was quite old. Sadly, nothing could be done to correct the fracture, and amputation was the only option. Because of Conrad's general body condition, his recovery will be a long one, but he's in the best of hands and is expected to once again be a energetic and active guy. The RescueAngels at Dobies and Little Paws Rescue in Fillmore take on countless Dobes and gets them healthy, ultimately finding them homes. With the recent horrific fires, they were indeed very fortunate to escape with their building and physical plant intact. Because evacuation was necessary, they were unable to take on any dogs and financially, things came to a standstill. Please, have a look at their latest miracle, Conrad, and make a donation to SND so we can help assure that DALPR can continue it's amazing work. I know noble Conrad thanks you, as do DALPR and me. You can begin helping Conrad now by clicking on the PayPal button to the right. If your account allows, opting for family gifting saves even more! You may always mail one in instead! Roxy!
|
January, 2018: The beauty you see before you is Miss Roxy, an 11 year old Senior Sweetheart! In Roxy’s former life, she was a puppy machine, cranking out those baby Dobies just as fast as her ‘greeders’ could get her pregnant. Once she was all used up and unable to bring in the $$, she was deemed useless and dumped, thrown out like a dirty rag. Roxy was a sad sight being both physically and mentally shut down when the Rescue Angels of Doberman Rescue of Nevada stepped in on her behalf. Roxy had never had any health care and was suffering from a severe case of Demodex. She had multiple painful lesions all over her body. You could see clearly that she was starving and she showed signs of mistreatment as well. Never living any semblance of what a Doberman lover would call a ‘normal’ life, Roxy was afraid of anything and everything! Even the soft touch of a human hand terrified her! Following many months of treatment, Roxy’s Demodex was finally gone and a lovely red coat slowly appeared. It was hard for Roxy to gain weight due to her skittishness and inability to relax enough to eat a full meal. Lots and lots of consistent love and patience from the DRNV Angels have given Roxy more stability and trust but she is still fearful of most people. Roxy has had an array of medical issues in the past that have been the direct result of her former malnourishment and neglect, the most recent being dental disease. Roxy recently endured 3 hours of oral surgery and the removal of 5 major teeth to relieve her of dental pain. Her surgeon reported she had an unusual condition where she had bacterial infection on the inside of her teeth vs. the usual outside of the teeth and gums as we are accustomed to seeing. She also had loose teeth, decaying subsurface and bone loss as well. Poor girl!! Now, it doesn’t take much of an imagination to figure out that Roxy’s dental care was quite costly. DRNV has come to the great supporters of SND with hopes we can help them out with sweet Roxy’s grand total. Your gift is tax deductible and NO amount is ever too small!! You can mail in your donation or you can use the PayPal button to the right. (If your account allows, tap on ‘send money’ and then ‘family and friends’ to keep you donation fee free!) Roxy is once again on the mend! Our friends of DRNV along with we of SND all thank you in advance for your continued generosity in supporting our fabulous breed! Want to see Miss Roxy?? Check her sweetness here http://www.doberman911.org. Beth McCahren, Roxy's SND Case Manager. |

Gunner!
|
January, 2018: Gunner is a noble looking boy, isn’t he? Lucky for this 4 year old, his owner didn’t seem to think so because he dumped him. Gunner is yet another case of being dumped becoming his salvation—thanks to the RescueAngels of San Antonio Doberman Advocacy and Rescue. These usual Angels swept in and saved him. From what, besides his uncaring (obviously) ex-owner (fill in the blank _____)? Heartworms, of course!!! Why would the jerk who barely cared enough to surrender his dog have bothered with heartworm preventative? Here it is, January 1st, and I’m already foaming at the mouth about yet another sick Dobe that didn’t deserve this neglect. AARRGGHH!! Please join SADAR, SND and me in this battle. Anything will help, no amount of caring can ever be too little and a whole lot more than he's had before!!! Join us all in mounting the Worm Wars for Gunner!! You can begin helping Gunner by clicking on the PayPal button to the right. Opting for family gifting saves even more if your account allows! You may also mail one in, that’s what I do! Thank you so much for beginning this new year with the generosity all of us appreciate so much. Thank you!!! Carol Belknap, Gunner’s SND Case Manager. |
