Stella was a stray picked up by a local shelter. When no one redeemed or adopted her from the shelter, Puget Sound Doberescue pulled her out and had a vet give her a week’s worth of desperately needed special care and examinations. She is currently safe in a foster home receiving the medical attention she needs. (Stella is currently on thyroid medication, her coat is nearly bald, and she is rather chunky. She seemed to be a bit incontinent but a urinalysis indicated a slight infection. She is on antibiotics, though, and she seems to be able to hold it for a very long time.)

She is about 10 years old, black/tan, has natural ears, a docked tail, and is spayed. She is very timid - she balked at going into a crate at first, but now she doesn't want to come out. She is relatively quiet, but “boofs” at the other dogs if they get in her face. She has a very beautiful face and gentle demeanor. She would do best in a home as an only dog, or with a submissive male her size or larger. She is very well behaved, knows the command “sit,” and walks moderately well on lead. She is also a bit of a couch potato. She would be great for an older person who wants a laid-back Dobe.
