Smokey!
Smokey's owner passed away, so he was surrendered to Austin's Town Lake Animal Center.
The Center had scheduled to euthanize Smokey, but volunteers from Brazos Valley Doberman Rescue
pulled him from the shelter. He is currently in a foster home looking for his forever home.
Smokey is 7-8 years old, blue, cropped, docked, and neutered. He has no known medical needs,
but is trying to lose a few unnecessary pounds. He has a very stable easy-going temperament.
He is highly sociable and shows no hesitation when meeting strangers. He is very good with other
dogs, but has a strong desire to chase cats and squirrels. He knows his "sit" and "down" commands.
He even shakes hands when asked. He lives to be petted, and will go from person to person in a room
and put his head in their laps asking for some love. He is housebroken and has learned the use of
a dog door at his foster home. He sleeps next to his foster mom's bed at night and is good with her
young grandchildren when they visit.
Brazos Valley Doberman Rescue will place Smokey in Texas or surrounding states.
BVDR asks that he be returned to if the adoption does not work out.
