Herrah came to SADAR after her owner passed away in her
sleep one night. When the family arrived they found Herrah
guarding her beloved owner’s body and would growl
and show her teeth if anyone tried to touch the body. She
knew something was terribly wrong with her owner and was
trying desperately to protect her. The family wanted nothing
to do with Herrah and told the authorities that they would
have her “put down” as “she loved that
dog more than any of us anyway”. When news of Herrah’s
situation came to Margo at SADAR, she quickly stepped in
to save Herrah’s life. Herrah is now getting used
to living with SADAR and is a very happy, loving dog. She
brings delight to all the volunteers there and with her
adorable snuggly-ness and willingness to please. She is
a pleasure to have around and what more could one ask of
a Doberman than to protect you in all situation, even after
death?
