Tessa!
December,
2010!! Miss Tessa has been adopted! HAPPY RETIREMENT Miss Tessa!!
Food
does not = LOVE... or fidelity - Dangerously overweight and dumped
too!!
My
new DDRI Rescue Squad Angels sent me to the fat farm...
Now my treats come from love and affection - and I'm enjoying
life again!!
Eat your heart out Kirstie Allie!!
Seven year-old Tessa was turned over to DDR when
her owner, who'd had her since she was a wee baby, could no longer
keep her due to financial troubles. When she came into foster
she weighted a whopping 123 pounds! Clearly her owner thought
love equaled food and she was getting lots of treats with no exercise.
On a good solid diet, less treats, and lots of walks she is now
down to 112 pounds. Tessa is very good with cats and little dogs
but the big dogs scare her. Being a bit of an alpha she would
be best in a home without another alpha dog. She is also very
nervous around small children so a home without children would
be best. Tessa is a very good girl and loves to go for car rides,
walks, and when it's hot, enjoys wading in a pool.
Special Needs if any: Proin and inexpensive thyroid
meds.
