Meet 9 year-old Senior gentleman Chief. He came to rescue after being picked up as a stray wandering the streets. One of the reasons he may have run away from his home can be seen in his condition. He was very likely a fighter or a bait dog - dog-fighting, another degenerate and reprehensible activity enjoyed by so-called humans. Our Chief is looking for a new beginning and a home where he can live in love and comfort for the remaining years of his life. He loves all people that he meets and doesn't seem to mind cats. He does not like other dogs that get in his space and he will get fussy so a single dog home might be best. He would love a family who walks as he loves to go walking. He wants to be close to people all the time - typical Dobe behavior. He has some lumps and bumps associated with aging but they are nothing to worry about and don't interfere with his quality of life. He is a leaner who will turn himself into a circle as you pet him. Special Needs if any: none. Geographic areas: Rescue will consider applications throughout the U.S. and Canada providing a home visit can be done. The Sponsor A Senior program helps Seniors by raising funds for their rescue programs. This helps offset some of the additional costs that come with caring for a senior (diet, medications, supplements, etc.). Please read more about this program on the Sponsor A Senior page. Mr. Chief is looking for a sponsor! The cost to sponsor a Senior Dobe is $40 per month or $480 per year. You can sponsor a Senior for one month, one year, or somewhere in between.
