Tootsie and her younger brother were recently surrendered to Doberman Rescue of Southern Nevada because their owner was no longer able to care for the dogs due to his terminal cancer. He was heartbroken, but knew he had to do what was best for Tootsie and her brother.

Tootsie is an AKC registered Dobe who celebrated her 8th birthday on April 13th. She is very sweet and affectionate, but not needy or clingy. Her ears are natural, her tail is docked; she is healthy and current on all vaccinations. She is spayed, micro-chipped, and has no known medical needs or conditions. Tootsie is just a wee bit pudgy, so we're working on dropping a few 'vanity pounds'. She is fully house trained, mellow, and has basic obedience skills, albeit she's a bit rusty. Her former owner said she has no bad habits other than sometimes digging if she is alone outside and bored. Her coat is thin, in part because she's a Blue and in part because of a poor quality diet in the past. We are hopeful her coat will improve with quality food and coat supplements.

Tootsie has been a cherished, well-loved family member and wants to continue in that role. She is very social and gets along well with other dogs, kids, and adults, but we don't yet know how she feels about felines. When out for walks, she has shown an interest in birds - and even pointed a time or two. That's different - a pointing Doberman!
