Truman!
We
are ecstatic to tell you that Truman found a new family on January
6th!!!
Read Truman's Happy Tail below!
This
sweet Doberman has had his fair share of bad luck. His original
owner placed him in another home, only to find the family gave him
away. The next person kept him outside and tied him to a tree. He
had no shelter other than a boat to crawl under during inclement
weather. Although very thin when found, Truman is rapidly putting
some meat on his ribs now that he is in rescue. He was also found
with lots of calluses on his pressure points and barely had any
coat. His coat is coming back and the calluses are decreasing. He
is currently taking medication for hypothyroid.
Truman is 7
½ years old, neutered, and has a blue coat with rust markings.
His tail is docked and has cropped ears that flop. This Dober-fella
is very easy going, laid back, and extremely affectionate. If a
person sits in a chair, he will put his head between the person's
knees to have his ears rubbed. He knows basic obedience commands,
"sit," "down," "stay" and "come."
Extremely quick to learn, Truman is very willing to please, and
settles down well in the car. He is well behaved in the house, and
walks easily when on a lead. Truman has favorite squeaky toys and
carries one with him all the time. If left unattended, he will bury
all his toys in the yard - possibly afraid he may never see them
again. He behaves better with older children who understand to leave
Truman's toys alone. Truman lived with a female Dobe and does well
kenneled beside most males. He will guard his toy, however, if another
dog approaches. This Dober-boy wants a very special home where he
will be given a lot of love and special attention. He is a wonderful
Doberman and will make a true-blue companion and pal.
Truman's
Happy Tail!
Truman went
to his new home just before the holidays, and we are confident that
this gentle giant will make his family very happy. He's waited so
long for the right home to choose him. Sometimes the older Dobers
are overlooked, in his case, it was worth the wait! He has joined
his two wonderful humans and another blue Dobergal. He's also become
a permanent fixture on the couch. He only moves to follow the sun
these days :)
(Thanks Carol,
Truman is just where he needs to be!)
