Lennox!
This
big, handsome and gentle Doberman was turned in by the family who
rescued him four years ago. They are moving into a new home and
no longer want Lennox and the second Doberman they bought three
years ago. Rescue now has both Doberboys. Unfortunately for Lennox,
he has an infestation of heartworms and he needs to be treated.
More unfortunately, though, for this sweet fella’, his leg
wound was diagnosed as cancerous, and the doctors amputated his
leg in mid-April. Updates on Lennox’s progress are provided
at the bottom of this page, as well as the Special Needs Dobermans
page for Dobes with fundraising needs for their medical conditions.
Lennox is a black male with rust markings, 8 years old, cropped,
docked, neutered, and micro-chipped. He is current on all vaccinations
and presently being treated for heartworms. He is great with children,
other dogs, and cats. He loves to ride in the car.
He has a very typical Doberman personality — a laid back
velcro Dobe. He wants to be with his humans and is most congenial.
He's eager to greet new people. His favorite pastime is watching
T.V. lying in front of it with his humans. He's a wonderful dog.
He loves everyone he meets and fits the description of a real
gentle giant. He is quite a special Doberguy, and will make someone
an extremely loyal companion for the remaining years of his life.

While Lennox was under they did the analysis and determined that
the growth on his leg was cancerous and the leg had to be removed.
(He had not been using the leg for some time so they figured
that even at his age he would still get around OK.)

The morning after the operation the vets reported that Lennox was
up and about, getting used to moving around on three instead
of four. Pictures from day one are right, and below. This is
one brave Dobe!! He will have to go to a VERY SPECIAL HOME!!

Lennox is acting as though he has been through all this before
-- truly amazing how well he adapts.
