The
Brothers BuddyRo & Chazz!
We're
very happy to report that the Brothers Dobe found a new, loving
home on January 6th!!!
Read BuddyRo & Chazz's Happy Tail below!
The
original owners turned in these two Dober-brothers, BuddyRo and
Chazz, along with their Dober-sister, Kelsey. The family was relocating
to another state and was unable to find a home where they could
take the three Dobermans they've had since they were eight-week-old
pups. The three could not be placed together, but the brothers
found a home with an elderly woman and lived happily with her
for the last two years. Unfortunately, she now has been diagnosed
with terminal cancer, and once again, these two Dober-boys are
back in rescue, currently living in a kennel, and needing some
relief.
Both are 7-year-old
neutered males with docked tails and cropped ears (Chazz has one
ear flopped). BuddyRo is red with rust, and Chazz is black with
rust. The boys are in the best of health, extremely well behaved,
and great with children. They have basic obedience knowledge, understanding
"sit," "stay," and "come." They also
know the command "no cat." They are very good in the house,
never destructive, never chew, and stay off the furniture. Both
walk well on a leash and ride exceptionally well in the car - they
just curl up on the backseat and go to sleep. Of course, they would
love to go to a new home as a pair, but both feel that having a
loving family is more important at this point!
BuddyRo & Chazz's
Happy Tail!
As told by Carol Fama from
Doberman
Rescue of the Triad
The "call" came for BuddyRo and
Chazz and I knew the potential home was going to be the perfect
one for them. The family consisted of mom, dad and three teenage
girls. All were most anxious to have both Doberbrothers live out
the rest of their lives with them. After the home visit and vet
checks were completed, we made arrangements to have the family drive
to Greensboro to meet them. Both Doberboys attached themselves to
the young girls and ran, not walked, back to the SUV; both literally
flew up and into the back of it. Inside were two brand new beds,
two 14" compressed rawhide chews, new tennis balls, new blankets,
etc. etc. They never looked back. These Doberbrothers walked into
the new home, investigated and sniffed around for five or ten minutes,
then settled in as though they'd lived there their entire lives.
Now they take turns sleeping beside each of the girls' beds at night.
The family owns its own business and insists on taking these fellows
to work with them each day. We were recently informed that both
Dobers even went to see Santa Claus this year.
These are the placements that make our jobs at rescuing so fulfilling.
(From all people owned by Dobes... Thank YOU Carol!)
