Tootsie!
Tootsie was returned to rescue because her new owner claimed she barked too
much. We have not found her to be a barker unless left outside for long periods
of time. This sweet old girl will be safely cared for in a foster home until
a permanent home is found.
Tootsie traveled a difficult road. She first belonged to an older gentleman
who had terminal cancer, who wanted to be sure his dog was safely placed
into a new home before he passed. Tootsie had been with this gentleman
since puppyhood and he had her until she was 7 years old. Tootsie was placed
into a home that turned out not to be so great and then was given to a
relative who lives in Northern Montana. Tootsie lived in Northern Montana
for about a year and a half until that owner decided she didn’t have
time for her, especially since she barked too much when left unattended
outside. Las Vegas Doberman Rescue kept tabs on Tootsie during her stay
in Montana and the minute they sensed the owner was willing to give her
up, rescue reclaimed her. We are now looking for a forever home for Tootsie
as she is now about 10 years old. She is blue/tan, has natural ears, a
docked tail, and is spayed. Tootsie is totally housetrained and is good
about letting you know when she has to go out. Male Dogs are definitely
no problem with Tootsie but cats and children are an unknown.
Tootsie has no special needs as far as we know. A blood test/thyroid
test was run 2 years ago and all was normal at that time. She appears to
be in excellent health at this time. The only thing she needs help with
is to improve is her coat (although it is very full). Tootsie's coat is
dry and brittle and sun bleached from being outside too much.
