Peanut!
This adorable blue Dobe was found as a stray in Mississippi and picked up by Animal Control.
Gulf Coast Doberman Rescue (GCDR) went to the shelter to evaluate her.
After a short time with her, it was obvious by her demeanor and knowledge of commands she
was someone's pet. GCDR specifically asked the shelter if she had been scanned for a microchip.
They said yes. When GCDR took "Peanut" to the vet for vaccinations and an exam,
the microchip was found. When the owners were contacted, rather than being elated that
Peanut was found, they informed GCDR they did not want her back.
Peanut loves people of all shapes and sizes. She is a very sweet little girl who deserves a
*dedicated* owner. Typical of a blue Doberman, Peanut's coat leaves something to be desired.
However we believe her personality makes up for any cosmetics!
Peanut is 7 years old, blue and rust, cropped, docked, and spayed.
Peanut knows the commands sit, down and shake. She comes when called, is very well
mannered, and does not jump. She does not bark excessively, nor is she destructive or a
digger. She has lived with small children and LOVES attention! She is crate trained
and housebroken. Peanut tolerates other dogs but does not enjoy playing with them.
She would do best in a situation as an only dog, or with a male companion.
Peanut has tested slightly positive for heartworm.
Our veterinarian's recommendation is to maintain her on Heartgard and then re-test in
6 months. Previous owners noted that she had mild urinary incontinence.
(GCDR has not noticed any incontinence while in rescue.)
This condition can be maintained with medication if necessary.
Gulf Coast Doberman Rescue will place Peanut in Louisiana or Mississippi.
