Lovely Louise!!
No one is quite sure how old Louise is but the estimate is about 13. In her last home she was kept outside and received limited vet care. Her previous owner did say they’d had her about 9 years and she’d tested positive for heartworms when they got her. The only treatment they attempted was to give her a preventative when convenient or if remembered. Given her age the rescue will be treating her with Doxy and Heartgard only. Louise is still very spry and get’s along well on three legs. She loves the cats in her foster home although they don’t seem to like her much. She does well with other dogs. If there is food around, dog or human, she will growl and snarl if the other dogs get too close. Although she’s lived her entire life outside she has not had any accidents in her foster home and will go to the door if she needs to go out. She can be trusted alone in the home but prefers to be with her people whenever possible. Special Needs If Any: None. Geographic Adoption Area: Kentucky and surrounding states but will adopt outside that area if a home visit can be arranged and the people are willing to travel to meet the Dobe in their foster home.
