NAP
TIME !!
Seven
year-old Lady was dumped by the side of the road after her pups
were weaned and by the look of things this wasn’t her first,
second, or third litter. Once she arrived to Bluegrass Doberman
Rescue she had a mammary tumor which was removed when she was
spayed. Sadly, the mammary tumor was malignant. She was then taken
to 3 different vets including a specialist and all agree her prognosis
is terminal giving her 6 months to a year. The specialist says
they could try a complete mastectomy or chemo but that most likely
would only give her 3 - 4 months at best. One vet suggested using
a new arthritis drug (not cheap) that is limited to trails and
has shown to slow cancer down. It’s no cure but it may give
her a few more months without the side effects of chemo.
Lady
is now with her permanent foster Dad who said it’s his and
his wife’s job to make her as comfortable and happy as possible
with the time she has left. Lady LOVES her foster mom and goes
wherever she goes. She also loves car rides and when she hears
the words “let’s go” she runs to the garage
door. Lady is a social butterfly and has the entire neighborhood
stopping by to see her. For now, she is a happy girl, eating and
drinking well and enjoying life to the fullest.
