Meet
Zorba (The Greek?)!!
Does
this pose make me look Zorba-esque??
So??
Whaddya think? I'm no longer a Buddha-Pest!!
You
might be familiar with Zorba the Greek , but this Zorba
is Hungarian. Yes, he has the European look and this handsome
Senior boy was whelped in Hungary. His owner called IDR
about giving him up and in spite of their agreement to take
him they decided to drop him off at the city Animal Control.
Two hours later an IDR volunteer was there to get him. At
the time he he was pulled from the shelter he was covered
in fleas with no muscle mass in his hindquarters. The owner
left a pile of paperwork and records documenting years of
training which all took place in Hungary and Serbia before
he was sold to them in the U.S. This poor guy showed a body
worn out from poor care. He had callouses and his femurs
were visible under his fur. It’s clear he was either
crated a lot or lived in a small confined area on a hard
surface. His temperament is still being evaluated due to
his training background, but he was displaying typical intact
male ‘doggy’ behavior before he saw IDR’s
vet. It will take some time for his years of testosterone
to work out of his system after the neuter so until then,
he will remain under evaluation. They were told he lived
with other dogs in his previous home but there is no detail
as to how that went. He will not be placed with a home with
children because his protective training history can indicate
a high prey drive.
