Skylar!
ADOPTED
May, 2009!! Happy retirement Skylar!!
|
Now
you see me... Now you don't!! :)) I love this blankie!
Skylar was surrendered because her owners
had a baby and she was allergic. They also surrendered their
other Doberman Pol. It is very sad for these older dogs
as they have had a stable home and then all the sudden they
are sent away, confused.
Skylar is 10 years old and seems to be a pretty docile girl
though she lets you know when she needs a bit of attention.
She is your typical older girl with some lumps and bumps
and arthritis. We did x-ray her leg as she does have a limp
and the vet said she has arthritis in her elbow. Her nails
were ridiculously long when she arrived and we did cut them
back as far as we could but they are still long. She lived
with one other male Dobe and birds and is mostly okay with
the dogs in her foster home. She has been around young children
and even will let them nap with her. She loves to sleep
under blankets and you can see that in the photos. She is
always excited to see you when you get home and wags her
nub back and forth. She is very loving and will lick you
as long as you let her.
She walks fine on a lead and isn’t too reactive to
her surroundings. She loves just to lie next to you on the
couch but will lie next to your feet all day if not allowed
up. Skylar has perfect manners! She doesn’t jump up
on people, steal food off the counter top or run around
the house. She knows how to sit, stay, come, heal, lay down
and loves to give you her paw for a treat. She is housebroken
and never has any accidents in the house. A ranch-style
house with a family would be best as lots of stairs will
be hard on her. If you can open your home to this senior
gal looking for some feet to lie at please email Pam.
Her only known medical needs at this time
is arthritis.

The Sponsor A Senior program helps Seniors
by raising funds for their rescue programs. This helps
offset some of the additional costs that come with caring
for a senior (diet, medications, supplements, etc.). Please
read more about this program on the Sponsor
A Senior page.
Bowie is looking for a sponsor! The cost
to sponsor a Senior Dobe is $30 per month or $360 per
year. You can sponsor a Senior for one month, one year,
or somewhere in between. To sponsor Baby, use the PayPal
button below or visit the Sponsor
A Senior page for instructions on sending a check.
Thank you for any help you can give, it is MUCH appreciated!
