Meet
Mr. Sampson!!
Pick
me!! I'll be your STRONG MAN!!
Ready, Set... LET'S GO!!
Sampson
and another Dobe were reluctantly surrendered to IDR+ when
their dad was diagnosed with cancer and could no longer
care for the dogs. This sweet guy is 10 years old, and he
just wants to lay his head somewhere and be loved. Sampson
tips the scales at 95 pounds. He will have a skin tag on
his eyelid removed when he gets a dental, but other than
that, he’s in pretty typical shape for a senior Dobe.
His back end is a little weak, so he might have some signs
of Wobblers, but he insisted he was fine at the vet. At
times, his back feet don’t flip back to normal right
away, but he wasn’t showing any problems during the
exam. The vet said his range of motion was excellent! He
has some expected lumps, scars, and spots, all of which
the vet said not to worry about. Sampson had been living
with another male Dobe, who has started picking on him with
the stress at home. He can live with other dogs, but his
dad requested we split the boys up to find them homes easier.
Sampson is easy-going, and he likes everyone he meets. The
surrender papers say he can live with kids 10 and up, but
we hope those kids will give this sweet boy his space. He
is housebroken and crate trained, and he can walk on a leash.
He had a fenced yard in his previous home, and he’d
bark to come inside. He will chase a ball, birds, and outside
kitties; but when introduced to the IDR+ tester cat, Sampson
wasn’t too interested, but the kitty knew Sampson
was cool and begged for attention. A house with few steps
to the yard for potty would be ideal, and slippery floors
will need a few rugs for traction. Sampson is used to grooming
and nail trims. His dad insists that Sampson is a very good
dog.

additional costs that come with caring for a senior (diet,
medications, supplements, etc.). Please read more about
