Raider
was very recently rescued, so his foster Mom is learning more
about him with each day. His owner passed away and the family
would not take care of him.
Raider is 10 years old, red, cropped and docked,
and neutered. He has no known medical needs and looks great for
his age, but is a bit on the larger side weighing 100 pounds.
He also acts quite young. Know anyone that can help this wonderful
boy?
Illinois Doberman Rescue will place Raider in Illinois,
NW Indiana, and Southern Wisconsin. Adoption information can be
found on their website.
Raider has a new home! Here is his Happy Tail as
told by his new mom:
"Raider
is great and has decided that my bed is a groovy place to sleep.
Chelsea
sleeps with my daughter Katie, and Raider with me . Even the
cat
has
decided that he is a good boy. What a wonderful dog...I am so
pleased that I decided to take him
home. He
has a lotta life left in him...he loves to play ball and is pretty
frisky for
being 10. If I hadn't seen his vet stuff I could swear he was
only
about 5
--- no grey on his muzzle or anything. I'll keep you posted,
but be assured that he has a home here for life."
After a month in his new home, Raider's Mom dropped us another update on how well he
fits in with his new family. A special thanks to Gwen, Raider's mom,
for adopting Raider and keeping in touch with Raider's progress.
Here is what she wrote.:
"Raider, my 10 yr old "baby" rescued a couple of months ago, and has
become a fabulous member of our family. In all, I have had nothing but
great things to say about my elder dogs. I would take another senior Dobe
any day (under protest from my eldest daughter, I'm sure). I have had
multiple compliments on Raider's good looks and scads of compliments from the vet and staff
at the South Elgin Animal Clinic.... they are my pride and joy. Thanks for
having such a fine group as the Ill. Dobe Rescue...I truly treasure my "kids"
and will delight in giving them a good home for as long as they are here
with us. Looking forward to the Reunion !!
