Okay... Nap time!!!

Pookie is a sweet 10-year-old and 55-pound gal that was surrendered to a local city animal control by her owner. Her owner landed in the hospital with an illness and didn’t have any family to take Pookie in. Thankfully, the Animal Control Officer (a long-time Doberman lover) knew to reach out to us for assistance. About a year ago, Pookie was hit by a car. Her rear leg was severely burned by an exhaust pipe so it needed to be amputated. After all that she’s been through, Pookie is looking forward to new beginnings and second chances. She is very loving and well-mannered. She seems to be housebroken as she hasn’t had any accidents in her foster home. She doesn’t chew on anything and enjoys being a couch potato. She gets along with the resident dogs, but hasn’t been cat-tested. Pookie was able to adjust to being a tripod, but it’s clear that she should go to a ranch style home where she wouldn’t have to attempt stairs. She will be fine in a home with children 7 and up..
