Meet
Mulan !!
Named
for a Warrior of great spirit wonders...
Can
I retire now??
For
Me?? THANK YOU! A Warrior needs to keep up her
skills!!
Mulan
originally came to IDR+ from the streets of Puerto Rico
in 2017, and one of our amazing volunteers adopted her.
However, the babies that arrived since her adoption are
severely allergic, and no amount of maintenance is helping.
Therefore, Mulan is VERY reluctantly looking for a new home.
She is about 8 years old now, and she weighs 70 pounds.
Mulan was incredibly cared for the past 3 years. She is
in excellent health, received annual teeth cleanings, and
recently had a small mole removed. Mulan is the only dog
in the home, and in her original foster home, she didn’t
always appreciate the other dogs, so she’d appreciate
continuing to be the queen bee. She’d also appreciate
not having small kids in the new home. She gets anxious
when the babies cry and jumpy when older kids make sudden
movements, so she’d be happiest as your only child.
Mulan received some training and knows the basics, so she’s
move-in ready. She rides nicely in the car and walks nicely
on a leash. Like most Dobermans, Mulan barks at strangers
and wants to protect her family, so she’s not a social
butterfly. If you are still maintaining social distance
and not having lots of visitors, she’d be perfect.
She enjoyed a 5-foot fenced yard, but she can be leash walked.
She can hop over a shorter fence. Mulan ignored cats when
she’d occasionally encounter them, so she can be considered
for a home with kitties. Due to her original past in PR,
she never quite caught onto typical playful dog behaviors.
She doesn’t understand fetch, but she loves her stuffie.
She uses it to soothe herself when she’s nervous.
Like many Dobermans, Mulan has some manageable anxiety,
so she’d love someone who worked from home. She can
be left alone, but she’s happier when her people are
home. She is a champion cuddler, and she just wants to be
loved.
