Meet
Mr. Hutch!!
Wont'
you help heal Hutch's heart?
What
Doberman, a Senior Doberman at that, deserves this??
Hutch
had a rough life before he landed with IDR+. This handsome
8-year-old boy came to us from southern Indiana when a shelter
contacted us about a Dobe pair in need. Hutch and his Dober-daughter,
Raven, were being used a breeding pair and living outdoors
until their owner/breeder decided they didn’t want
the duo anymore. It’s really quite horrifying what
lengths backyard breeders will go to in order to make a
quick buck. Hutch will be neutered once he gains enough
weight to have the surgery safely. Currently, he is extremely
underweight and also has some ugly pressure sores on his
leg from laying on a hard surface. The weight will come
and the sores will close, but Hutch has some emotional scars
that will take longer to heal. Hutch clearly has not spent
much time in a home recently, if ever, and the sights and
sounds are petrifying to him. Hutch is skittish around new
people and sudden movements make him uneasy so we don’t
think he would be a great candidate for small children.
He loves cheese, so we are working on making him comfortable
and trusting. He simply does not understand that humans
are good, nice, and just want to give him love! His new
home must be patient and understand that Hutch has been
neglected for a long time, so he will need time to build
trust. Hutch is VERY sensitive and will need a patient owner
to work him through his issues. He has been ignoring the
cats and dogs in his foster home so he might be okay with
other furry friends. In fact, we think that he might benefit
from a confident canine companion to help guide him into
being a normal dog. Please email dobes@ildoberescue.com
if you think you might be the perfect match for Hutch.
