Bobbi!
Here is what Illinois Doberman Rescue writes about this Dobe:
Duke is quite new to our program but first impressions are that
he is a very sweet, easy- going boy who just wants to find that
loving family to spend the rest of his life with. Duke is eight
years old and was surrendered by his owner (with whom he had spent
all of his life up until now) due to their
neighbors' abuse of Duke. His previous owner was concerned about
Duke's safety and thought it best that he find a safer environment
in which to continue enjoying life spent with a loving family.
He was recently shot with a pellet gun and
is recovering from injuries received on his right check and chest
area.
Duke’s Foster family reports that he has been
great with his foster sister and with his foster cats as well.
He is house-trained and suspected to be crate-trained as well
(although he is not crated in his foster home). His foster mom
has not seen him in action with kids yet, but he reportedly grew
up in a daycare environment so is expected to do well with them.
He has a very gentle demeanor and loves to plop down beside you
to have his belly rubbed. Although he is a sweetie and does appreciate
being petted and loved on, he is fairly independent in that he
is fine with lying down in a room on his own and catching some
zzzzzzs so he may do
best in a quieter home environment.
