Mr.
Damon's best "Come Hither" smile... Resist this!!
Damon is an 10 year-old dober-gentleman who
has a lot of love to give. He came to IDR when his owner
died unexpectedly and the owner's family was unable to care
for him. IDR is hoping to find him a home as loving as the
one he's been in his entire life. Although his world has
turned upside since he had to leave the only home he ever
knew and suddenly losing his best friend, he still has a
happy personality. He is neither too energetic nor too lazy.
He loves to take walks and is the perfect gentleman on the
leash. He is equally happy to sack out in this crate or
up on the couch. He loves attention from everyone he meets
and will pace his head in a lap to have his ears rubbed
or will happily lay on his back to have his tummy scratched.
Damon came to IDR weighting in at a hefty 98 pounds and
is now on a diet to take a few inches off his masculine
physique. He is completely housebroken and is crated during
the work day.
He knows some basic commands such as sit,
stay, lay down, outside/potty and his favorite word - dinner!
Apparently , nobody told Damon he was a senior because he
gets around quite well and has no problem hopping into the
car without assistance. We would make a wonderful companion
for people young and old although he has never been around
small children so a home without them would be preferred.
He gets along well with small and large dogs but a seems
a little too interested in cats so a "no cat"
home is recommended. If you're looking for a wonderful companion
this is a truly special boy who has nothing but love to
give to all.
