Cooper!
Often times Dobe orphans come into rescue programs heartworm positive and Cooper
was one of the unfortunate. Thankfully, this sweet 7-year old natural eared Dober-boy
has bravely weathered his heartworm treatment, and is now ready for his very own forever
home. He is black and rust, neutered, has a docked tail, and up-to-date on all his shots.
Cooper has proven to be a wonderful companion to children of all ages. He also has
demonstrated he will get along with dogs he lives with.
As Cooper enters his senior years, he is looking for a quiet home with a comfortable couch to lounge in.
His fondest wish is to play the role of a couch potato, however, we hope his new home has a
fenced yard for Cooper to roam and sniff around when he does decide to get a some exercise.
By now you might guess he has a very laid back personality! Cooper has not demonstrated food or
toy aggression. When he is on a leash, however, he will show some leash aggression. Illinois
Dobe Rescue is working to correct this with Cooper and will continue to help his new family
with overcoming this habit. When he came to Dobe rescue he was definitely an outdoor dog.
It has been a long but successful journey teaching Cooper house manners and he is definitely
ready to show off his ability to be a wonderful, well-mannered dog for his new family.
Unfortunately, Cooper cannot continue to live with his current foster folks and if you are
interested in fostering Cooper, please take a moment to consider this worthwhile endeavor.
Our greatest hope is that Cooper will soon find his own people to Dober-lean on, but if you
can provide a temporary home for Cooper while he patiently waits for his own people to find him,
please consider helping us save the life of a Doberman.
