Meet
Miss Camie!!
Hey! It's the season... Tennis anyone??
UPDATE!!
Camie is a wonderful mature gal who is move-in ready. Her
foster parents say she is very quiet and content in their
house, but she would appreciate her own forever home. She
has very polite table manners and does not inhale her food
like other Dobes. She is very smart and likes toys that
hide treats for her to find. Although she is 9 years old
(DOB 12/25/2006), she will occasionally chase a ball, get
the zoomies in the yard, and roll in the grass, but she
is more interested in hanging out with her people. Camie
is crate-trained for a normal workday and through the night,
and she is housebroken while she has the roam of the house,
but like many older females, she benefits from an inexpensive
supplement (Proin) to control her common minor leaking.
Her foster parents have noticed that they don’t need
to vacuum as much as their previous Dobe fosters because
she does not shed as much as other Dobes. However, like
most other Dobes, she will nudge your hand for some petting
and lean in for full-body contact. Camie happily barks to
announce the arrival of guests, yard critters, and even
big bugs, and with summer arriving, it’s important
to note that she is NOT afraid of fireworks or thunderstorms.
She will even amazingly walk outside in the rain to potty!
Camie likes to ‘talk’ to her foster parents,
and we bet she has some stories. You might be wondering
how such a great girl wound up in rescue. She was surrendered
to a vet office when she was brought in to be euthanized
because the child became allergic. They thought they were
out of options, but the vet told the family about IDR+,
and they gratefully signed her over so we could find her
a loving forever home. She does not live with another dog
now, but she should be able to share a home after a slow
intro. She is too interested in the critters in the yard,
so we don’t recommend her with kitties. Camie happily
lived with a child in her previous home, so she should be
fine with kids 7 and up. Please email Dobes@ILDobeRescue.com
if you’d like to take this sweet lady home.
Lovely
Camie in her Foster Home!!
Sweet
9 year old Cammi was taken to her vet’s office to
be euthanized because the child in the home became allergic.
They thought they were out of options but the vet told them
about IDR and the family signed her over to him. She is
a very happy Senior girl who perks up even more when she
sees her leash. She has some very common fatty lumps like
most older dobes especially if they are chubby. She is also
on an inexpensive medication to prevent urinary leaking
which is common in females. Cammi spends her days lying
in the sun and playing ball. She gets vocal when she is
happy, so an apartment or condo might not be an ideal home
for her. She has not yet been assessed with other dogs or
cats but she did love the kids she lived with in her previous
home.
Special
Needs if any: An inexpensive medication for urinary leaking.
