Meet
Miss Beulah !!
Beautiful
Beulah wants to be by YOUR fire!!
SO???
Whaddya say?
Beulah
is a beautiful, spunky, fawn, senior girl at 9 years young
and 72 pounds. Before you fall in love with her please read
her whole bio. Beulah was surrendered due to separation
anxiety which is being managed in her foster home with inexpensive
medication, a thunder shirt and a pheromone collar. Her
new adopters should plan on continuing this long term anxiety
medication for the rest of her life, as it improves her
quality of life. She cannot be contained in a crate as she
was never crate trained, so the crate is a place of fear
and high anxiety. This can be worked through, however it
could take some time. Beulah loves people and is good with
visiting kids, but would prefer a quieter home with children
12 and over who know how to behave appropriately around
large, older breeds. She would love owners that are around
to spend time with her. She likes to go on walks and is
learning her leash manners at her foster home, but would
happier with a fenced-in yard, so she is required one (no
e-fence). Beulah is house trained and knows sit, shake,
lay and stay and will happily do them all, but prefers cuddling
up on the couch with a human. She has done well with the
resident male Doberman after a slow introduction. She is
interested in the resident cat, and she would be okay in
a home with a dog-savvy cat that doesn’t mind her
curiosity or try to run away. She was said to live with
a cat previously.
Beulah
is a good girl and we are not requiring an obedience deposit,
however it is always a good idea to do a refresher course
to establish the bond, trust and expectations of her new
forever home. In-home sessions might suit her well to help
work on her mild separation anxiety issues and teach her
appropriate coping skills. She is rightfully confused having
lost her forever home, so we hope that she will settle in
nicely once she finds her comfort zone. Beulah has nice,
moderate energy since she is an older gal, and would be
perfect for a laid back home that didn’t need a dog
that required much fuss. Due to her separation anxiety,
she would be best with someone that is not gone too long
each day, has a dog walker in place, or someone who does
not work or works from home. Beulah is a sweet senior that
is looking for a second chance at her forever home.
