Mr
Tripper!! Day Tripper! One way ticket to your heart, please!!
What leg?? I've never stopped running!!
Meet Mr. Tripper. This handsome 7 year-old Senior boy
was rescued from the Pueblo Shelter where he was taken after
being picked up as a stray. When taken in he'd already had
a rear leg amputation and is a bit thin but otherwise his
health is excellent. Tripper is a wonderful boy with an
excellent temperament and he gets along with all people,
dogs, cats and is likely similarly inclined towards children.
He is very obedient and learns quickly. He's also a tremendous
mama's boy and will follow his foster mom around everywhere.
Tripper is a mechanically inclined Senior, which is to say
he uses his paw and nose to open up doors, baby gates, and
cabinetry.
Special Needs if Any: Tripper has some mild arthritis in
his remaining rear knee, but this is minor and is responding
well to dietary supplementation and anti-inflammatories.
He is an amputee so there will be certain aspects to his
rehoming not regularly considered with other adoptions.
He needs a home with no stairs and plenty of straightaways
that are conductive to his mobility and locomotion. He moves
well but is better at running than walking on a leash. An
amputee gets tired quicker when walking on a leash due to
the hopping and skipping needed to move forward. Carpeting
in a home provides good traction but not one that is carpeted
in moveable rugs and runners.
Geographic areas: Any area where a requisite home check
can be performed.
