Shasta was adopted from Doberman Pinscher Rescue in 2016 at the age of one year. There had never been any indication of anything wrong in the home environment or with Shasta, and we did check on her early on, so it was incomprehensible to us to receive a call from an animal shelter in 2024 saying that she was there as a stray dog, identified by our microchip number, and unclaimed.  We know that adopters can pass away or suffer terrible health crises, but we always hope that everyone realizes we're always here for our dogs!  Shasta is now 9 years old and has obviously not had good care, though she always had the typical patchy blue-Dobie coat.  And, she's just as sweet and loving as she was when we first placed her, according to our notes from 2016!

Special Needs if any: Nothing but perhaps some inexpensive thyroid meds.
