Nikki (not to be confused with our younger black-and-tan Nikki :), a lovely red female Dobie, was surrendered to us by her owners in late January, 2021 because they couldn't afford to take care of her. She is personality-plus! She's active, friendly, good with other dogs, housebroken, and an unrepentant beggar of human food. Though she's 7 years old and greying in the face, she otherwise behaves like a young adult, running, chasing squirrels, and bonding easily with new people. Her ex-owners said Nikki likes to chew things, but we haven't seen any of that behavior since her return; it's typically a sign of a dog that is bored and needs some sort of stimulation. She has a small growth on one leg that we'll be removing for testing as vet appointments become available during the pandemic.
