LIFE'S
GOOD, man...
Rescue
volunteers in Bakersfield, CA saw posts on Facebook that there
was a Doberman running on the side of the highway. He had been
seen around the side of the highway for days and it was nothing
short of a miracle that he hadn’t been hit by a car. Reports
also said it looked like he had a large mass on his neck and they
knew if he was picked up by Animal Control the shelter would most
likely euthanize him. So, volunteers did what they do best and
located him laying down on the side of the road. As first they
thought they were seeing a car tire as he was laying on the curb
motionless. When they realized it was the Doberman they were looking
for they feared he was dead. When they got closer he lifted his
head, did not try to run or struggle, and allowed himself to be
leashed. They took him home, gave him food and water, picked hundreds
of ticks off of him, and bathed him with medicated shampoo. The
next morning they took him to the first vet appointment they could
get. He had no microchip so they posted him everywhere including
making the required report to the shelter. It appeared no one
was looking for him. He has multiple medical issues and will be
kept in his foster home for the rest of his days while the rescue
works and getting him as healthy and comfortable as possible.
