We rescued Duchess after she had been unadopted at her upstate animal shelter. She was a mess; so severely underweight that the shelter probably feared she would bloat. A little over a month later, she has achieved a healthy weight and is in reasonably good condition for her age. Unbelievably, her shelter had aged her at 2 years, but she is definitely a senior most likely 7. Her molar teeth belie her age, making her appear much younger, but her front incisor teeth are worn to the gumline. During her time with us, Duchess has been kenneled with two different adult male Dobies and gotten along with both of them, but she has definitely been the alpha. She is also fiercely territorial when viewing other dogs passing by her kennel! We think this Spunky little Dobie will make someone a lovable and protective pet to own.
