When the rescue was approached by the shelter where Danny was, our love of old dogs is such that unless one is seriously and incurably ill or fiercely aggressive, we nearly always make room for them. Danny was not neutered, so there was some concern about whether he would be able to “free-roam” with the more than a dozen other dogs who run ad play on six fenced acres, and have nice comfy beds with access to the house via a doggie door. Happily, Danny fit right in, though a few growls were exchanged over the free-feeding arrangement. He has since gotten used to it. He’s a friendly, very handsome 10-year-old boy who we’re happy to have helped to give him a safe place to spend the last years of his life. Since coming to the rescue, Danny has been neutered.
