Blix!
|
Update!
Blix will be going to his very own home Thanksgiving weekend. The couple who are adopting him live in Reno and they are experienced Doberman
owners. They passed their home check with flying colors and received a great recommendation from their veterinarian. Blix will be a full time house
dog except when he wants to cool himself off in his very own man-made stream and wading pool in the backyard. He will have a tiny female Doxie as a
companion when his folks are at work. His new mom is going to take him to obedience training too! Thank you all for your continued support of this
wonderful and deserving dog. Let's hope Blix has many years with his new family.
This
unfortunate victim of Sarcoptic mange and incredible neglect was
saved by a local shelter
and Doberman
Pinscher SOS has
been rehabilitating
him. (See the stark before picture taken
just after he was pulled from the shelter and amazing
after picture below!) Details of his history and progress can be
found on the Dobie SOS website at www.dobiesos.org.
The mange is not difficult to cure and after one week this
fine boy is feeling
and looking much better than before. Blix is about
8 years old and is red/tan, cropped, docked, and neutered. This guy
is
actually happy and
he
does the "full body wag" at any bit of attention and especially
if food is involved!
Blix is now available for
adoption. He has turned out to be the most wonderful dog. He is smart,
affectionate, and obedient. He is
social with other dogs, both male and female and we think
he can learn to live with cats. He is not a barker or a digger and
he is mellow yet has plenty of go. Blix enjoys riding in a car and
he is crate-trained. He has a cleft in his palate that doesn't
cause much problem at all. He does requires thyroid medication.
He and Belle are great friends and they would make a fun pair! Contact Information: Doberman Pinscher SOS will place Dobes in California or surrounding states. However, the adopter must agree to personally return the dog to Doberman Pinscher Rescue in the event the adoption does not work out. Please contact Susan Schionning by phone at 661-886-1721, or by e-mail at dobiesos@earthlink.net. Adoption information and application are available on their Petfinder website at http://www.petfinder.com/shelters/dobiesos.html

The Sponsor A Senior program helps Seniors by
raising funds for their rescue programs. This helps offset
some of the additional costs that come with caring for a senior
(diet, medications, supplements, etc.). Please read more about
this program on the Sponsor
A Senior page.
Blix is looking for a sponsor! The cost to
sponsor a Senior Dobe is $30 per month or $360 per year. You
can sponsor
a Senior for one month, one year, or somewhere in between.
To sponsor Blix, use the PayPal button below or visit
the Sponsor A Senior page for instructions on sending a check.
Thank you for any help you can give, it is MUCH appreciated!
