Bambi
came into rescue 2 years ago in Southern California, when her
original owners relinquished her due to homeowner association
rule changes restricting the size of dogs. She spent six months
in foster care there, and then moved to a second foster home in
Central California for an additional six months. She has been
in her third foster home since that time.
Bambi
is a black and tan 7 year old spayed female. She is cropped and
half flopped, docked, very healthy, and crate trained. Bambi is
quite sociable with people and loves children who are old enough
to be considerate. While she is uncomfortable living with other
dogs, Bambi does not behave aggressively when out for walks. She
does not like cats, at all, uh-uh, nope.
Woohoo!! Here's a word from
Bambi about her new family, then the announcement from some
very happy folks at Dogworks Rescue, and finally a picture of the
new family:
From Bambi herself: "I wanted to take a moment
to thank you for finding me a few family. I was so happy when
Brent and Karen told me they want to adopt me. They treat me
like a queen. I have my own bed and we take walks often."
From Leanne of Dogworks:
"We are very happy to announce the placement of our senior
Dobie, Bambi.
She has been adopted by a lovely couple whose priority is to
make her the center of their lives. In the most recent reports,
Bambi is loving the
liberty of being an only child, with two doting "parents" to
tend her
every need."
We would like to thank Bambi's
new Mom and Dad (below) for granting us permission to continue
using Bambi's oh so cute face on our front page. It's the photo
at the top of the main SDP page. We've grown very attached to
it and to her - she was among the very first three or four Dobes
we listed with the Senior Doberman Project. So thanks Bambi and
parents!
