Current Fund Raising Auctions

SND has an ongoing series of auctions to help raise money for our Doberman assistance efforts. This is in addition to the direct donations made by our members and other concerned people. Please feel free to spread the word about SND and especially these auctions! Anyone can bid, you don't have to be a member of SND to contribute to helping Special Needs Dobies. Our completed auctions have been very successful thanks to the generosity of the bidders and those who donated the items. This money will be well spent!

Most of our auctions will be run on eBay. This greatly expands the number of people we can reach with our auctions and hopefully generates more bids. On February 26th, searching for the word Doberman on eBay turned up 518 different auctions! We will highlight our auctions on this web site and cross-post announcements to other organizations and email lists. If you don't have an eBay account and don't want to get one, no problem! Simply email us and a bid will be placed for you. The email address to use is listed with each item.

Verdina "We Are Not Disposable" Sculpture
eBay Auction started March 8th at 4:33pm, ends March 18th at 4:33pm (PT)

This positively gorgeous sculpture by SND member Mardee Verdina will be put up for auction in the next few days. It is a tribute to all the hard work done by rescue organizations and those that go out of their way to adopt Dobes in need of homes. This piece of art sums up what we all feel about our Dobie kids! You can see larger images of the sculpture by clicking on the picture below. (This will take a little longer to download!) Clicking on the eBay symbol will take you to the auction itself. If you don't have an eBay account and don't want to get one, no problem! Just email us at auction@doberman911.org and let us know your name and the amount you'd like to bid, and we'll take care of it for you. Here is a complete description of the sculpture from Mardee:

"This sculpture is hand made from polymer clay and then fired to make it as durable and hard as glass. It is 5" wide, 7" long and 6 1/4" high. There were no molds used so it is a one of a kind sculpture. The only thing that is not made of clay is the wooden base and mouse eyes. A great deal of time went into the detail to make it as realistic as possible. It is signed and dated by the artist which happens to be me. While I was making this sculpture I would often stop and look at my recently adopted 10 year old Doberman and realize how thankful I am for the wonderful rescue groups that have saved so many like her. Without them she would most likely be at The Rainbow Bridge waiting for someone who would not come for her. This sculpture says it all about how important their work is. I hope it ends up on some rescue person's desk. Remember all proceeds go to Doberman Rescue and Special Needs Dobermans. These are non-profit organizations so your purchase will be tax deductible and you will receive documentation to support that. Good luck and happy bidding!"
