Rescue Group:  Seattle Purebred Dog Rescue

Cassie had been abandoned in Oregon. Fortunately, she found her way to the Seattle Purebred Dog Rescue thanks to a kind-hearted shelter. She is estimated to be 7-8 years young, is black and tan, spayed, with natural ears and a docked tail. Cassie is microchipped and current on all vaccinations. Her CBC tests revealed no significant health issues. She did have a cancerous toe removed in the past, but it is unlikely the cancer will recur.

Cassie is in a foster home until her new people can be found. She consistently charms all who meet her because she is very loving and eager to please. Cassie is crate trained, house trained, and plays well with younger male dogs. She reportedly dislikes cats, so will likely need a home without any felines. Although her foster Dad said that he has not seen any cat-aggression from her, to be on the safe side, no kitties please.

According to Cassie's foster Dad: "She loves all people, but prefers women. She is VERY sweet natured and obedient. She NEVER gets on beds, furniture, etc. (I think previous owners were VERY strict on this, because she sees Dylan do it all the time). She NEVER steals food, has never done any destructive chewing or digging. She LOVES daily walks and is strong and healthy. She is very sensitive to changes in tone of voice. One day, I was upset because my computer crashed with seconds to go on an eBay item I had been waiting for. I was a bit vocal, and poor Cassie ran outside and hid under the deck! But she is not hand shy, so I can't say she was ever abused. The only negatives are the alleged cat hatred and that she acts like a dominant bitch. It took her quite a while to warm to Dylan. She would be best as an only dog. If there are other dogs, they should be a laid back male or VERY passive bitch."
