Rescue Group:  The Doberman Rescue Group

Ike is a Hurricane Katrina Refugee from Mississippi.  His town and home were destroyed by the hurricanes which is how he came to find himself in a shelter.  The DPCA's Disaster Relief Team was notified of his situation and pulled him from the shelter and transported to his current foster home. In February, Ike will move to his new foster home in Victoria, Texas. Ike is 8 years old, fawn, neutered, cropped, and docked. He is a wonderful senior boy who knows all of his basic commands such as Sit, Down, Stay, and No.  He walks very well on a leash and loves romping with the young dogs.  He is very tolerant of cats and other critters.  Ike is handled by two young children and is very respectful of their size and abilities. He is a very loving gentleman and enjoys spending time cuddled up on the sofa with his favorite toy or a chewy watching the Animal Planet channel. Ike is very healthy other than two minor issues: Color Dilution Alopecia (CDA), for which he takes supplements; and, flea allergies which can cause a rash if bitten. Ike would be a wonderful companion for any family and a great Dobe to introduce to the new fancier.  He embodies everything wonderful that we love about this breed!
