Meet Mr. Houston!  Want to help turn this sad face to Proud & Happy Face again?

I still have "A Whole Lotta Luvin' Going On"
I've been to hell, but I'M BAAAACK!!

Houston is a handsome 10 year-old Senior who was taken from a horrible hoarding situation in Binghamton, New York. The case was featured on the local news when 16 Doberman Pinschers were found in a home, 3 dead and the rest emaciated and covered in their own feces. Animal Control removed all the dogs to safety and they were either adopted or sent to rescue. All except Houston, who was left behind at the shelter for 25 days until he was pulled and taken to Second Hand Mutts of Cleveland, OH.

Houston's foster mom says he is a bit woman-shy but warms up after he begins to feel safe. He knows has name when he's called, knows some basic commands, and is still pretty agile jumping into her truck like a pup to go for a ride. Houston gets along well with other dogs but would probably be best in a home without cats since he barks at them. He is housebroken and has had no accidents in the home. He is trustworthy in the home when left alone, loves chewing on his stuffed football and napping on the sofa. One of his favorite pastimes is laying on his doggie bed by the sliding glass door and watching the world go by. He loves to walk, get and give love, and to play with his humans. He likes to be involved in household activities and would make some lucky household a loyal and loving companion.

Special Needs if any: None. Houston would be best in a home without small children as he does not like to be touched in any way when he is laying down or sleeping. This is likely a fear response to something that has happened to him in his past.

Geographic areas: The state of Ohio.
