Trudi came from a shelter in Greenwood SC. She had been abandoned by her "so called" family and left chained in a garage when they moved away. Years earlier she had been stolen from her original owner by the family that abandoned her. They had stolen her to use her for breeding. Once they got her home and found out she was already spayed they chained her in the garage and left her there for years. At least they had the decency to call the shelter go get her. What a horrible existence she endured for so many years. She had become so very depressed in the shelter that she wouldn't eat, she just laid there curled up in a ball. The shelter workers had held her longer than they were supposed to because she had touched their hearts so. She was fast deteriorating and something needed to be done. One last plea went out on her behalf and a foster home was found. She was transported to NC in hopes that she would begin to heal. Trudi is heavy HW positive, She takes two enalapril and two furosemide daily to keep the fluid from building and to keep her enlarged heart from working so hard. Periodically she has to take steroids and antibiotics to help alleviate fluid build up as well. She will be assessed in November to see if she is a candidate for HW treatments. She needs dental work as her bottom front teeth are rotted down to the gums. Very kind, sweet, old Dobergirl. Listens well but doesn't like to share with her sisters. She cowers and plasters herself to the floor when she thinks she did something wrong. She plays for short periods and loves to lay in the sunshine.
