Gorgeous Tyler is a 7 year old special needs Doberman relinquished to the shelter because he was anxious and uncomfortable around the 3 year old child in his home. Plagued with a ruptured disk and possible Wobbler's Syndrome, Tyler bears the sad genetic history of many Dobermans. Sharing his home with toddlers, given the pain of a ruptured disk, likely explains Tyler's occasional grumbling and snapping when a child fell over or onto him.

Tyler is a beautiful neutered red male, with natural ears and a docked tail. Tyler, like many Dobermans, would prefer to share the couch and be pampered. Tyler adores people and is a schmoozer of epic proportions! With other dogs, Tyler is said to be mostly friendly and playful, although does not mix well with small dogs. Although he has not lived with cats, it is reported that Tyler will chase them for fun. Completely housetrained with impeccable manners, Tyler had free of the house when he had to be alone. Tyler behaved wonderfully at the groomer, and is a bit nervous in the car. True to his breed, Tyler can be protective of his home and family.

Loving, loyal, and charmingly affectionate, Tyler is seeking a home with positive Dobie experience where he can live out his days in comfort. Tyler has had a neurological workup to evaluate his ruptured disk. While he is showing no symptoms of pain now, caretakers will need to be vigilant about monitoring exercise, helping him shed some excess weight, and expecting to visit the vet on a regular basis to make sure Tyler is not in any pain. Wobbler's Syndrome, another common affliction of Dobie's, is a condition in which instability of the cervical vertebrae can cause abnormalities in gait and locomotion. Again, Tyler is symptom free at this time, but that may not always be the case. Tyler is not happy with his new life at the shelter and longs to be back in the heart of a home where he can again be king of his castle.
