Here's Zindell, the gorgeous Doberchild of Allison. Zindel is a typical, breathtaking and precocious Dobe who found himself in serious trouble after swallowing part of a Nylabone this past January. Allison rushed him to Med-Vet after she noticed his sudden lethargy and vomiting. Surgery was performed on the 23rd and he came home two days later. His condition deteriorated when he arrived home and Allison rushed him back to the vet. The initial impression was that he had an infection and they put him under observation for 24hrs, and he continued to decline. Finally, with Allison frantic by this time, they decided to operate once again and discovered peritonitis as well as necrotic tissue in his small bowel. A gastropexy was performed as well a small bowel resection, and finally, Zindel came home to recover...and happily, his recovery is complete.
This fight for Zindel's life has left Allison's finances in a shambles. Allison made arrangements with her mother to get a Wells Fargo credit line so Med-Vet would discharge Zindel. Pet insurance did help some with the $5800.00 bill with a $1500.00 payment, and Allison just sent them a check for $1000.00...but she still has a huge bill - with interest climbing- ahead of her. She is also fighting a climbing mortage on her home and she is dealing with having to face surgery herself, without insurance. As with many of us, she puts her Zindel first as he is the light of her life and the reason she is asking SND for assistance.
