Storm!
Poor Storm! Diagnosed with Wobbler's and in pain and an uncertain future. Wobbler's Syndrome is a compression of the spinal cord, normally occurring in the cervical (neck) area. This compression, or narrowing, causes imbalance of the hind quarters and eventually paralysis. Storm is struggling to walk right now and we are hopeful that she will be the perfect candidate to benefit from Dr. Durkes gold bead implant treatment. Surgery is also an option however the success rate and the outcome can be uncertain. Storm has a chance of positive recovery if we can help her obtain the care that she needs now. She is greatly loved by her family and extended family and they all would like to see her dobie smile again!
Storm's dad Craig has unfortunately been laid off from his position with a mortgage company due to all the foreclosures we are sadly seeing across the country. His unemployment is running out and he is desparately seeking a new job. Meanwhile, he supports himself, his son and their dobergirl Storm as best he can. He has come to SND for help for Storm and it is hope that he can find a way to ease the pain she lives with before it is too late. His plans are to contact a veterinarian who will institute a treatment plan of acupuncture as a starting point and if Storm improves, his hope is to consult with Dr. Durkes for gold bead implants to address Storm's Wobbler's disease.
